It was so bad on Saturday that the lad who does Terrace Talk (some social media weirdness, if anyone's not heard/seen it) was talking about having a protest during the Bolton game. But he's now stepping back from that and saying the fans don't deserve it.

Wouldn't be a shock if he's on here...

The fans deserve to hear a statement,coming from the club explaining why no action has been taken,regarding the coaching team,that have failed so badly.This must come today as fans are losing all faith in TS's leadership at this club.

They don't have to do anything though. The club are 3 points from safety with 11 games to play, and a manager who has a contract which extends way past May. Whatever fans think (and I absolutely think MH is wrong for the role now, and a replacement is required at some point - but ONLY when a proper replacement is secured), the club don't have any obligation to communicate to fans.

They're in a difficult position because they obviously can't outwardly say the manager is failing unless they sack him and have the right man in waiting. They can't say they're standing by him for the rest of the season because that's more or less sacking him in May and disrupts efforts to stay up. They can't say they back him with no specifics because that smacks of the "dreaded vote of confidence". As frustrating as it is, saying nothing is their safest option unless they have a new man coming in.

I doubt he'd consider it. As a fanbase we crucify managers here, even the best split the fans in two. Warne gave us the best period of any recent times and many still despise him, Richardson is off showing what he could have done but many dismissed him, Evans split the fans in two and Hamshaw the same... who'd want the job??!?

The next manager will likely be someone who has had some success at League Two level, a more experienced head who can manage upwards (even though I'm not sure that's what Tony necessarily wants). We cannot attract any higher due to how the chairman operates and the facilities the gaffer has to play with. I'd put all my eggs in the Dave Artell basket personally, a manager who has the ability to manage at L1 in the future without a doubt.

Luckily, the summer is a clean slate when we shed the vast majority of our wage budget and although the budget would undoubtedly be cut, I'd anticipate it to be a very competent L2 budget.

Whoever it is, they absolutely have to have time to develop a playing style and needs patience from the fanbase in doing so. I think we're at a clear defining point in terms of our identity, and ultimately the "Rotherham DNA" has now been left behind and needs to develop to have any sort of success in the future. There'll be an expectation from the fans that if we go down, we'll bounce back up immediately but given how badly wrong we've got the last four years at least, there's no guarantee that happens.

I think they are living in the hope that the injury crisis will subside, we'll win 6 or 7 of our remaining games, survive comfortably and the MH furore will all blow over.

Unfortunately, living in hope is what the fans are supposed to do, not the executive management of a multi-million pound business.

I'm not criticising you or anybody else and I actually agree with most of what you and a lot of others say.
I don't have any "great ideas" but I do think the club has been stuck in a time warp for several years now and I can't see anything changing unless there is a change of ownership and a complete restructuring of the board and senior management at the club.
Some people will say "be careful what you wish for" but the club is in a downward spiral and in my opinion needs fresh, modern thinking to arrest the decline.
Unfortunately that's just my wish list and it probably won't happen and I suspect we'll just see the autocrat sack the fourth manager since Paul Warne left and nothing will magically improve.
It's a mess!

I am not lashing out at you, I am defending my position after you implied my comments on injuries were unrealistic. What do you expect me to do? As i have said multiple times, my angst is at the club, I have nothing against any posters on here or their opinions. Lets leave it there please and focus on the bigger issue of a badly run club that is in a very downward spirral.
