agreed, plus the fact he doesnt create that much and more often than not games pass him by sadly...

I can see why folk think that but even in these matches he shuts off a lot of space and it causes the opposition problems as there is no room. That's a hard thing to see though, granted. Fans want to see him slide a pass through to the strikers or pop one in the top corner. Both of which he did last season but it'd be great to see more of it given the evidence he's capable.

Ultimately I think it's a reasonable analysis that he's been held back by the way he was asked to play last season. He's certainly not alone in that regard mind you....

Sorry but not buying this out of position story.
He gives the ball away so easily, panics under pressure and because of that he often passes to a teammate with a man right on him. That's nothing to do with what position you're playing.
If he was decent he would have shown it consistently by now.
I know you rate him Terry but opinions and all that.

Again, watch St Johnstone in the Cup final. Their midfielders although not big name players, were receiving the ball in space, then taking a few seconds to decide on the BEST pass, not the FIRST pass. Night and day from what our midfield was doing most of last season.

Canny edit on here as it deletes the post, but just to add this...

If you go back and watch our games last season you'll see the midfield players give away possession hundreds and hundreds of times because they rushed a forward pass or played a pass to a player under pressure who didn't have space and time to get it under control and use it.

That gives the opposition so much encouragement and means our defence is under pressure again every time.

One thing that does encourage me about Courts appointment is that he's a technical development guy and we just might start to see a side that can keep the ball better.
Obviously better players help with that.

Agree with this mate. He just doesn't show enough when giving the opportunity, and gives the ball away far to easily when under pressure, or through too many stray passes.
