Kent you are just picking fault for no reason! By announcing it first on Notts website no on rumour mill sites

I'm not. I thought you were saying they should give us the inside line and comment on the rumours and speculation, just to satisfy our curiosity. They can't, and shouldn't, say anything until there is something concrete to say.

There should be a carefully choreographed sequence of announcements - us announcing he has left, w are sorry to see him go and all efforts are now on finding a replacement etc etc, then shortly after Swansea should announce that, surprise surprise, he is joining them with photos etc etc. Until that happens there is nothing that anybody should be saying. It's tough, but that is how it should work.

If he didn't want to leave Notts, he wouldn't be leaving that's usually how it works. If he wanted to stay, he could have turned them down. I don't hold it against him, good luck to him. Nobody is bigger than the club, and i have no doubts the owners will replace him well.

If they asked the bros to talk to him, would you not go out of curiosity & to improve your techniques for the next interview? My wife has just done 2 for the experience side of it.

That ought to be the case, but Alex Ferguson, Brian Clough and Don Revie - to name just three - proved otherwise with their clubs taking many many years to recover, if ever.
LW hasn't been here long enough to be compared with Sirrel (who arrived 1969) or even Warnock (twenty years later), but if those managers come once in a generation, then a Luke Williams is probably once a decade. So i'm not feeling overly optimistic.

Realistically perhaps the best we can hope for is that the new man gets seriously lucky in the play offs and then we accept several years of struggle in L1 avoiding the drop with numerous changes in the dugout until we eventually strike gold again with a man who takes us to into tier 2.
Falling back to tier 4 mediocrity struggling to get into the top 7, if that's how it turns out, won't be pretty.

    Let's not be pessimistic
The players loved LW but if we get the appointment right and bring in someone who has a similar inclusive attitude then we have something to build on
All the most important players have at least another season on their contracts so unless we decide to sell them we will have to same guys on the pitch
Who knows, the new guy might bring some decent reinforcements with him too
Maybe I'll change my forum name to Pollyanna...

I know he loves it here so unless we make a pig's ear of the new appointment hopefully he will stay if he's offered a new contract
Apparently there are a huge number of people interested in the job
Usually a new manager has to come in on a rescue and recovery mission

All I can say is, it's not gone as smoothly as some have suggested. 3 days in should tell you something. I doubt very much that he met the players yesterday as they turned up for training & took the session. What Owner would allow that if a deal wasn't agreed?
Someone ITK for them reckoned it was a done deal yesterday and to be announced last night. Well nearly 2pm the next day & sod all
I would tell Swansea cut off 5pm today end of

Some documents were leaked in 2020 (clubs reporting data in to the EFL) showing that the average wage for a Championship manager was £878,000.
