Seen it mentioned on twitter a couple of times today saying that John Carver would be assistant to Courts.

Would be a decent move as Carver certainly has experience under him but I am sure he is involved with Scotland just now so uncertain how likely that is if so.

Would he leave or be allowed to leave the Scorland coaching set up before the Euro campaign or will United be willing to wait until Scotland are out before he joins.

In the week that we moved to the interview process the fans have heard nothing concrete from the club.Apart from the rumours that The Big Man was on holiday and up to a dozen people have been interviewed for Manager/head coach and assistant positions.

If Tony is on holiday i hope he gets home before being sent into isolation or it will be at least the middle of June before anything happens.

To be fair, the only person who has mentioned Tony being in Portugal with "his players" is you

Mellon was unsettled up here, don't think the pandemic made things easier. United board were like the fans, happy with the results, disappointed with the performances. This saved United money from sacking Mellon and made it easier to go back to Tranmere since there would be no compensation.

When Mellon came in, Courts was always the long term plan as the replacement manager (hence all the rumours since MM left), but was never the plan for it to be this early. Will be another manager in and when/if that manager leaves in 2-3 years then Courts will take over.
Also to add, there is no 'outstanding' candidate, its quite open at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a surprise appointment (I don't mean inexperienced like Courts, I mean a guy that hasn't been talked about much, or at all)
That's what I said. Didn't realise I made any predictions. Only thing I said was a week ago there was no 'outstanding' candidate. The fact (lol) we haven't appointed anyone yet probably says that was/is the case

Strange that we think it's more important to have an experienced no.2 than an experienced no.1. Ah well.

Yup its like this is the crumb of comfort given to an alarmed fan base.If we had all thought that Tam's appointment was genius i'm pretty sure both him and Adam would already be in place.

Reading Wikipedia, although he's worked at a high level, he has some pretty dodgy stats.

Yeah I would not actually rate Carver imo.

I’d actually prefer Hughes as No 2 given he knows Scottish leagues

Ultimately I’d prefer the best No 1 we could find that is available...

I would think that at least 90% of the usual managerial suspects would not be seen dead in our dugout taking orders from a youth coach.I am not attempting to demean Tam but some of these guys would not have him as their NO2 never mind being his assistant.
Yogi is going to Celtic by the looks of it to run their colt team.
