If we want a manager with more success than failure on their CV then like any other club we will have to look down not up and there?s the issue, below is non league or foreign leagues and there?s the issue for many fans.
I doubt we will bring in anyone with a strong enough personality to challenge the way the club has done things in the last few years

I hope you're right. Not in terms of having a strong personality of course, but in terms of challenging their employer.

Des Buckingham was managing in India before with no EFL experience and got Oxford promoted.
I don?t care where they?ve coached as long as they have the ability, leadership and at least a good understanding of L2 and what it takes to succeed, it?s not even like they're signing the players either.

That's not the whole story though is it. Des Buckingham is Oxford born and bred and had worked his way up at Oxford United before gaining more experience abroad, including NZ U23s manager before returning home.

It seems like people are getting their excuses in early for some of these prospective managers in case the brothers appoint them, to avoid any implied criticism of our owners. But the brothers are not making up these odds, that's down to the bookies, or rather, the bookie, loads of managers have been 1/2 now, and it usually comes to nothing.

I know that but still no actual EFL senior management experience let alone promotions in the EFL. In an ideal world I?d want that but there will be people out there here and abroad with all the qualities we need but obviously will be seen as a risk, that?s the owners challenge.

I fear that the appointment will provoke more questions than answers

Why do they need to challenge the club? I get recruitment wasn?t great at all in Jan as we didn?t get what we needed at the time but overall it?s been good and why would they challenge trying to play more attractive football if that?s their mantra too?

I just want them to be strong enough to lead the team and of course they should challenge the owners on recruitment at times but it?s hardly been broken over their tenure.

A "yes" boss then. These are your tools, get on with it
I'd say this is why an appointment is taking so long. Not too many Coaches like to be told what to do. Some will buy in to it, others will say fcuk that after the interview
