Interesting…and slightly scary, GP.
I get why, with your perspective, you’re disassociating yourself from the Greens although, imo, Reform UK are much the more extreme and sinister.
Think what is unusual now is the fact that both Labour and the Tories are united in their unpopularity. They usually take it in turns. Obviously creates opportunity elsewhere but I hope people remember that most of these elections are about electing those who are capable of managing local resources. I hope they do…but I doubt it.
I'm out of affection for the current political scene, everywhere. I have come to the conclusion (again) that we educate people sufficiently to keep industry going. That keeps the owners of said industry in their lofty position of wealth and the power that goes with that wealth. It is designed to, at worst keep the rich rich and, hopefully, even richer and the rest in their place.
The vast majority of people are, as far as the rich and powerful are concerned, merely there to keep the rich in the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. Basically, people are slaves to the system.
Sad.
No you wouldn't be sure, which probably says more about your own ability to understand concepts than whether I'm sentient. Sigh!
As for election lefalets, I've kept the one by a local guy who describes who is, what he has done as a councillor in the past and what he hopes to do in the future should he be relected. Sadly I suspect he won't be.
Those that spout political slogans or bullet points with promises that won't and can't be fulfilled by a local authority go straight in the recyling.
Mm the concept of "rear gunner" as often put forward by some on here is as I understand it where another poster actively supports another, seeing as you merely made a neutral observation I'm begining to see that some use phrases without actually thinking or about what their meaning is.! Sigh!
Though quite why, if another poster supports or otherwise agrees with a post of another, that should elicit such a response is a tad puzzling, perhaps there is some insecurity at play here? Especially if one is deluded enough to think thier opinion or view is held by the majority? Must be a shock to find out its not!
I suspect that the two concepts are not entirely disconnected - one always backing up the other
I wasn't sure what you were referring to here but I've just seen a vid on Youtube where Zia Yusuf (who incidentally looks as ridiculous as I've ever seen any politician with his stupid sunglasses) is suggesting that immigrants will be relocated into Green-voting areas if Reform hold sway. If its a party-election vid there's a flaw to that, because it doesn't relate to 'local politics', but it IS what Green voters are voting for surely? Or are Green voters only OK with the concept of having immigrants in their 'back yard' and not the actuality of it? I'm genuinely confused, in fact why aren't The Greens pushing for the same?
Sorry if that wasn't the source of your comment
