Good on JJ to show some spirit and to want to fight for a place. We are back in League 1 so not as demanding as the Championship.
Hopefully, as SawMiller says, here's to him remaining injury free.

He has shown some deft play in the few games he played for us under Warney plus he netted two against Parkgate so maybe just maybe, he can offer us that little bit more we haven't had the chance to see from him yet.

The size of him he ought to be knocking the sh*t out of opposing centre-backs, he could have
done with some coaching from Dave Gwyther.

My understanding of this is that he can stay for the remaining friendlies to prove to SE that he’s worthy of being in our starting xi at Exeter.
SE will make a decision after the Donny friendly and before Exeter.
I do not believe JJ has been told he can stay at Rufc indefinitely…..yet

In my view, he has had his chance. He wont get anywhere near the starting 11 so he might as well move on. I suspect the harsh reality is that he has found nobody wants him, at least at Div one level.

He can stay as long as his contract lasts if he wants ! Ok Evans might not play him but they would have pay him up to get rid. There is no reason why he can’t stop and establish himself here, he has the ability, as he got the ambition ?

JCH won't play more than 50% of the games, Hugill won't score enough so at the moment we are hoping the kid from Forest and Nombe (who I expect to do well this year) to get the goals for us, perhaps keeping JJ for the first half of the season might not be a bad idea

Maybe a swap deal with Carlisle to get GK back? After all, there were quite a few on here that thought he was the answer to our problems.

Yes that’s true on both observations although I’m not entirely convinced he’s a div one standard player
Another variation on your thoughts is that he stays but he doesn’t get a squad place.
That would be really bad news for his career so Rufc might use that to pressure him to move on.

Another scenario is a loan move rather than perm transfer. He might be able to refuse that too

Anyone else thinking we’re a bit top heavy with strikers/ attacking players SE saying he’s trying to get a winger in now right back position looks a concern for me if Rafferty gets injured other than that I’m fairly happy with the squad I know SE likes his strikers!

Sean McWilliams has played right back at his previous clubs as well as the holding midfielder role. Alex McDonald has also played as right wing back.
