    Dickie Bird, 92. Cricket legend.

    I saw his statue in Barnsley last week, and thought it was a fitting memorial to him. I assumed he had died years ago.

    His last test match was 29 years ago. How is it that long!!!!!

    He always pops into my head when I see any sort of 'Nelson' number.

    edit: Although that was David Shepherd and the one legged antics - still always picture it as Dickie Bird. I was young in the 80s
