Millertop, stop picking on me or I'll report you to the mods..... Lololol
Seriously, I suffer with "I just cant criticise TS syndrome"
Following the Millers for 35 years and suffering so much heartache has caused this.
I'm just in these are the great times camp!!
Obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm not setting out to upset/offend anyone.
I have + 5000 posts on this board in various guises and its not my style to disrespect or offend people, honestly.
WAMAW
What has happened today as caused meltdown on here and on twitter so hearing what Tony Stewart said about it all brings it down to this ts wanted to increase the bids but first contacted stubbs to see what he thought about it his opinion was that the players were not worth more than what the club were offering so the deals ended was Tony Stewart right in listening to stubbs advice and not be held to ransom by the selling clubs or should he have gone and bid higher
Last season Lee Gregory scored 18 goals in League 1, not including the play offs. The season before that he scored 9 in the Championship. The season before that he was playing in the Conference.
In his 2 seasons with us, Derbyshire scored 10 then 8 goals in the Championship, and we released him on a free transfer.
Yet TS was willing to bid £1.4m for Lee Gregory and unwilling to go above £500k for Bradshaw.
I just don't see where the logic comes from saying that Bradshaw wasn't worth the money or that Gregory was worth the money? Ok Bradshaw is not proven at this level, but his age and his last 2 seasons goal tally says to me that he's worth the risk. If he is a success then a bigger club comes in and you make a profit, if it fails and we go down we already know he's an excellent League 1 striker.
And if we were going to bid £1.4m for Gregory then Derbyshire was easily worth another deal.
Of course he was right to listen to the manager, whats the point of having one if you dont.Feel a bit sorry for TS he is trying to do the right thing for the club and getting slated on here by misinformed individuals. He waited for nearly a month for Warnock to make his mind up and then he gave backword,we could have used that time to have got the new manager in place. Its rather suprising how some fans have soon lost faith in our Chairman, short memories indeed.
Agree entirely about the Bradshaw comments, he was worth the money because he's only 23 years old and seems to be a prolific goal scorer plus he would have been a great asset to have regardless if we got relegated or not. If he scores goals in the championship he becomes a multi million pound asset, we get relegated and doesn't score in the championship then at least we have a prolific league 1 striker at a decent age. Not much thought at all in to this signing i reckon we've missed a big trick here and time will tell.
I still have faith in the man, I just wish he would't get our hopes up in every recycled article that the club have posted in pre-season, only to then back down when the going gets a bit tough. When championship clubs are bidding £5-10m for a single player we need to make sure that our own lower priced plan A is meticulously planned and executed otherwise plan C will see another relegation scrap.
