I imagine Warne’s comments might have an eye on recruitment too, don’t want to just be seen as a lower league clogging long ball team for potential recruits who might be more ambitious, truth doesn’t really come into it, he’s trying to alter perception.

As a very general rule the great flair players that we’ve seen in football tend not to be strong runners and tacklers.

The likes of Cantona, Le Tissier, Hoddle etc.

So today’s batch of flair players even at lower league level aren’t going to be attracted to Warne’s run till you drop style.

I tend to disagree Grist , your dead right that in the past flair players tended to be a luxury but today everyone is expected to run and tackle .

The game today demands it and it's very rare to see the Le Tissier types today .

In his later playing career, "Le Tiss" could hardly run anyway due to previous accumulated injuries. He played against the Millers (Cup game?) in a cameo role as sub... but he was burgered. Still a scratch (or pretty near) standard golfer, I believe, so the old co-ordination must still be there.

By the way, Cantona was capable of "leaving his foot in" - even with annoying spectators

Great to see Emiliano Martinez acknowledging the away fans at the start of the second half on Saturday and reciprocated from the away stand.
    Still a great keeper

Martinez - one of the best ever Millers keepers, even if he was only on loan to us.
Just been watching Reading match highlights - defending down our right flank remains poor, and has done since since the first match of the season. Unfortunately, every manager in the Championship must know that

His distribution was very good, and he commanded the box.
