First game, players settling in, etc. etc. Even so, apart from Maxim, there was no spark. People will blame Willems for the goal but for me it was Lascelles who left one of the best finishers in the world with 10 meters of space in front of goal - shocking defending.

Almiron played as though it was his debut. Needs to keep it simpler (like Maxim did) and stop the headless chicken stuff. I was impressed with Shelvey, if only he can keep it going, if only..........

Arsenal have fielded their weakest side for quite a while and should have been there for the taking.
We never threatened them and our style has clearly changed for the worst with Rafa gone. When all modern prem teams are playing out from the back with short, sharp passes, we have Dubravka pumping up long balls and even our passes out are 20 - 30 yards long hence their goal.
Midfield missing for long periods and Shelvey had the sort of game which offered nothing hence the reason why Rafa never favoured him.
Be interesting to hear Bruces' take on the match.

Was not that bad, though if you want to people will make it sound bad. He blamed the players re the obvious gifted goal but did not point the finger. He also pointed out lack of use for Joe linton and said something to work on.

He acknowledged the protest and answered as best he could.

All in all a decent interview.

Well, whilst mainly agreeing with you, we have been working on miracles over the last few years so nothing new there.

Maybe bruce might get his miracle. Though looking around at the start of the season, early days so hard to tell.
