I think because of VAR teething problems the Championship will be the best division to watch this season.

VAR is slowing the game down and reducing the number of goals and therefore reducing the quality of the product.

Premier League bosses are pretty smart when it comes to business and money so expect they will have sorted it out for next season.

Talking of var. Did anyone see the root catch Vs Australia. I was convinced (as were the commentators) the ball hit the floor first. Var, hawk eye whomever he is gave it out. I guess black and white is sometimes grey

Only goes to show that being captain has poisoned Root.

Before he would have told the umpire that it bounced, now he cracks on he caught it.

As for VAR I’m struggling to think of a “solution” that’s introduced more faults than it solves

Imo The problems were already there due to TV showing all the replays making the refs look inept. Var is the first step to solving the problems. Rules will need to change. One technology that has been a huge success is goal line technology. Not many people have praised it because var is overshadowing it. But has that worked because it's black and white.
If var rules are changed to to make the decision black or white it prob will be more successful.
Another success imo is offside. Ok it's var run and takes too much time to get a virdict but it's a B or W decision.
The oldfolk will never like var. It's a "wagon wheels were bigger when I was a lad" syndrome. But rightly or wrongly Tec rules the modern world. Embrace it or get left behind

Less of old wagon wheels were bigger and cheaper.

Take your point but it’ll still come down to different opinions from var

That's kinda what I'm trying to say topsy. Offside is either on or off.
Goal line tec is either over the line or not..
If they make it handball or not (even if it's accidentally) then there's not a problem IMO.
I'm sure over time they will get it right and speed up the time it takes. But
The tricky one is always going to be fouls/sending off via bad tackle. It's always down to individual interpretation

Listened to Football Heaven. First call I heard was a long whinge from a Barnsley fan about the poor quality of refs.

This is why we have var.

You sure it wasn’t a Rotherham fan that goes by the name Millertop?
