interesting - they played Newcastle in 1971, but surely had broken up by 1973?

Badney was Lincoln though, so at least my little grey cells were heading in the right direction

Yep, you’re right. The Newcastle gig was actually August 1974 and was the Roger McGuinn Band...but I still saw the Byrds at Bardney...James Taylor, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Tom Paxton too.

This little game is all over the internet so I'll just cut and paste my standard list:

    Iron Maiden with Di'Anno
Def Leppard with a two-armed drummer
Dr Feelgood with a Wings guitarist
    The Police's first gig
    The Police as a four-piece
    The Police's last gig
    Joe Cocker WITHOUT Joe Cocker
    Utopia supported by themselves
    Led Zeppelin
    'Led Zeppelin'

    I know, but I still wasn't a great fan

Speaking of connections, I was at school with two of the three members of one of the better Police tribute bands - The Secret Police

#3 would have been Henry McCullough then
Joe Cocker without Joe Cocker would have been an improvement
Have seen Dread Zeppelin but not the other two
So I will go with Def Leppard as the bluff
