On the last point, Brin, not something I would want (I don’t really know enough about other teams) but am happy to go with it if there’s general support. Are you saying the 10 points will only be awarded if somebody chooses the absolute top scorer or is it the top scorer among all the names chosen by the participants? It could well be different. My preference would be the latter since it would definitely keep it interesting and there would be at least one participant who gets the bonus points.

BramleyMiller58' idea of 1 point for a home win, 2 points for an away win and 3 points for a draw spreads the chance of scoring more points much better. Thanks for that.

Fixtures will be from 10/10. Get all 10 correct and you will receive an extra 20 points. Grist to the Mill showed us last season this is possible to achieve.

5 points will be awarded to highest point scorer(s) of the week.

Goal Tally, guess the correct amount of goals scored and you will receive an extra 5 points. (Reduced from 10 last season).
The extra 5 points can only be awarded though if all 10 fixtures are played. Any postponed games will not count.

Get 10/10 fixtures correct and the Goal Tally also correct and you will receive an extra 30 points. Very much doubt this will be achieved but it's there to be claimed if it ever is.

The Joker - One 'Joker' bet will be allowed per person for the season. Simply pick a week you wish to play your 'Joker' and you double your points on that day only. Some may score loads of points while others may be glad they played their 'Joker' that day, as they may well have scored very low.

An added extra outside bet. Before the season starts, choose ONE player only who you believe will score the most goals for the 2121/2122 season. Get this right and you will receive 10 extra points. In the event of a tie, all those with the highest score will each be awarded the 10 points. You can have a player from the Premiership, Championship, League 1 or League 2, the choice is yours.

    Thoughts please?
Nike! Just do it, sounds good to me.

Not keen on the last one and isn't asking us to pick a goal scorer 100 years in advance is a bit much Brin

The reason I don't like unbalance between H,A,D points is like last season everyone (or nearly everyone) will gravitate towards picking as many as they can of the result with the highest reward irrespective of how they think the games will end. Keep them all the same points and it removes that bias.

It will give Warne time to get one in.

I’d say 2 points for each correct result is still open to manipulation, CAM. Won’t people just lump on home wins, if they’re of a mind to do such things., since these are statistically the most likely outcome?

Either way it would be necessary to limit the number of times a particular result can be used to avoid gaming the outcome - if that was a real concern.

Personally, I don’t really mind if people want to play those kinds of games. I’d prefer to keep it simple and not bother with limiters.

On the first paragraph, it wouldn’t be a problem if we were judging forwards like Hirst!! He’d still come last!

Going back to when I used to do it CT I would rarely pick fixtures that didn't have some ambiguity about them so as long as Brin doesn't pick 10 H gimmies or 10 A gimmies then I think it's OK.

It’s a bit of fun, doesn’t need over complicated rules

    Minimum thinking required
