Yeah but the game was over long before Connolly's mistake. We could have played until midnight and never scored.

Spot on, others mistakes cost us the game before HT. Not using it as an excuse, but still can’t believe we have we three artificial pitches in our top league, fecking disgrace, but our inferior FA have let that happen, joke!!

You have to think however, how the feck have Killie, Livi & Hamilton (more-so the latter two) survived this long in the top league, so got to be some influence?

That was the first genuinely poor result and performance of the season. In the defeats against Hibs and Celtic we were up against better sides but we were organised and competed well and were unfortunate not to take something from either game. Today though we were up against a team who I would not have said were hugely better than ourselves but despite having vastly more possession we ended up on the end of a doing. Why? They took their chances and they defended well. We didn’t and didn’t. Simple. And today has hopefully shown the lot of them that in contrast to last season that if you are even slightly off it, you will not ‘get away with it’ and you WILL be punished. Amongst other things, we desperately, desperately need Shanks back and firing. As mentioned by others, we could have played and played and played today without scoring................

Disappointing to lose by that many in the end, always a minter losing, others have summed it up already with the possession and Killie doing a number on us, they are streetwise at this level on that pitch and were coming out determined to get the win they needed, they are tough opposition

Never once thought we were in the running for a top six finish and all this caper, it's not going to be easy to finish above two sides this season, that's been the case all along and it won't change, its a challenge we have to embrace and get up for in our first season back

Won't get easier as the season progresses so we need to improve, not let the heads go down regardless of what happens at Ibrox

Get Shanks back fit and a couple signings

Agree, we have to be realistic this season as most have already said. My worry is, even with Shankland back, if that is going to be the passing and delivery he is going to get, I wouldn't be too confident in another good goal haul from him again.

Was very disappointed with the amount of poor passes, long and short, that didn't look like creating any danger whatsoever.

Quote of the day! cant polish a turd.

I think to an extent we have all been drawn in with how much MM has been able to get out of the squad (myself included). I think we all accepted patience regarding signings due to the start we've had but i think this result has been coming. we have the basis of a good squad but just lacking any real strength in depth and quality esp in the final 3rd. It's still very early in MM rein but today does pose alot of questions for him going forward.

yeah smith being out doesnt help but I would rather see Freeman at RB. Neilson has shown some real potential but hes not even a natural CB never mind RB. looks like a RN type of selection. Connolly and Reynolds have been decent so far but we all knew esp CC had mistakes in them.
We cant persist with the midfield 3 we play. yes they are all workers and have shown so far this season that they can be decent but when we need someone to be more creative or take a shot they dont seem to do it enough. Surely Glass has to be getting an opportunity in there.
the options up top are poor.
Clark is either a deeper player or an impact subby. he cant do the lone job himself. (sadly i think the level is just above him) Appere needs to bulk up again to adapt to the prem. both puts the work in but not got enough about them to score the goals we need im afraid. even if shankland comes back i feel we need someone creative to feed him. C.Smith also doesnt get much of a look in just now.

Not all doom and gloom but this result i think was coming i expected the doing to come at ibrox but this may force a few transfer dealings.

Agree. Haven’t been a goal threat in any of the games we have played up to now.

Think we have to except Connelly will have a brain fart every now and then. But to be fair to the lad he has played well the last couple of games, but If that didn’t show today that we need to make a couple of signings ASAP I dnt know what will.

That said I’m not hitting the panic button just yet. Still confident that we will be ok this season.

Seriously lack quality in final third , got a number done us today , they were happy to let us have possession then hit on the break , harsh lesson learned , badly need 2 or 3 decent additions

Tough tough day today. Just didnt create anything despite dominating possession. They played long initially off the big guy up front, then sat back and invited us on once they were ahead. Tough lessons today but look forward to seeing us playing with Clark and Shankland together before I judge where we from an attacking perspective.

Not sure about that. Accepting a player with the odd brain fart was OK in the Championship. Different kettle of fish now. To be honest these are the type of results I was expecting this year with the squad we have. It was the excellent start to the season which was the anomaly.
