When a government tells this many lies they eventually tie themselves up in knots.
That just illustrates, among other things, the stupidity of calling these deals with single countries 'free trade deals'.
Apart from the fact that most Brexiters seem conflicted about the idea of free trade (if it's EU rules against protectionism then THE GLOBALISTS ARE COMING, but three cheers for the Tory free trade think tank) there will be restrictions and clauses in all of these deals, probably on the same or worse terms as the ones we had in the EU, be that in terms of limits, tariffs, immigration visas.
A 'free trade deal' would be half a page long and contain the words free trade and then have the signatures. It wouldn't even need to be negotiated.
It does make you wonder what all the fuss is about in the commons today. The Northern Ireland issue is no surprise, you only have to look at the reporting of this issue at the time the treaty was agreed, it was pointed out to Johnson by senior Tories what this meant as he looked to rush it through parliament so he could go to the electorate with his 'oven-ready deal'.
The most farcical part of all of this is that every single Tory MP that sides with Johnson is directly opposing and voting against the cornerstone of the manifesto they were elected on.
The average Tory MP in this government would vote to sell their own granny if they thought it would earn them brownie points with Cummings.
The Britain I love is the one that had a worldwide reputation for honesty, decency, compassion and fair play, but all that is now being flushed down the drain. Boris Johnson and his bunch of sycophants are dragging a once great nation into the gutter.
Loudest 'Hear Hear' in the Commons yesterday was following Lee Anderson's speech " All I see in the tea rooms are that bunch opposite reading the Guardian". Here's an ex labour man telling it how it is. An ex miner telling the Socialist fainthearts to grow a pair, live in the real world and understand what sticking up for your country means.
‘The cretinous stupidity of it’.

Most prob given the plenty of time to break a few more? But shock, horror, we're failing to implement EU law into UK law, (as part of a treaty) and that's a different thing?
