Heaven forbid that we criticise (and acknowledging what he has achieved!), but giving Poveda 10 minutes when he is patently superior in just about every respect to Costa, and putting championship-winning young players on a bench for the 1st team and almost never playing them (now we are safe in the Premiership) isn't going to motivate said players, no matter what kind of map the great man has in his head.

And it's not "for the sake of it", is it? We paid good money for Gelhardt and others and have invested heavily in developing many of the players in the Academy. Not much use if the opportunity to examine their true 1st team potential is wasted and instead we go to the transfer market because we dare not depend on those same players as they remain unproven, come next season. The time is now, while we have credible opposition in the remaining matches and can afford to experiment given the stellar performances the 1st team have (usually!), put in.

Not disagreeing with you I would play more of them and more often just Bielsa does it his own way.

Think Drameh, Summerville and Drameh all ready for minutes.

Poveda he may see as an impact player - who knows apart from MB - Harrison was poor today so thought Poveda would have come on a lot sooner and he did very well when he did.

Thought Roberts has a decent game too

For me one of the best things recently has been the emergence of Struijk as a genuine first choice centre back - him and Llorrente seem a good partnership with Phillips in front - haven't conceded many, ahaven't been beaten in the last six matches - his emergence will save us millions in the long run, now just blood a couple more to do the same next season?

agree on Strujik. He's solid and has a little edge to his game. Complements Koch and Llorente nicely. I know previous threads have addressed this but think the Cooper is 4th choice right now but you may need 4 at CB to get through a season.

I watched the game at the local pub and had several scum fans comment about our emergence as a strong defensive side. I think any of us would have taken our April results going into this month. we are a confident team right now and it shows on the pitch.

would love to see more the U-23's the rest of the season. Drameh in for Aliosky, Sommervile for Costa and Gelhart in for Bamford.

I do think that Roberts has had a positive impact on slowing down playmaking for the other team. Along with Bamford we have 2 of the more unselfish strikers in the league.

Casey and Cresswell look about 2 to 3 years from breaking through but big dominant CB who can pass.

Huggins at LB and Drameh at RB.

Watch a bit of the game today and the very young kids got game time - Max Dean and Charlie Allan look tremendous.

Was an odd game for me as I felt all of our attackers were pretty dire and with more quality we should have made a lot more of a few opportunities but then on the flipside defensively we were excellent, limiting them to maybe 2 good chances.

Roberts looks to be improving, still don't think he is good enough for PL team chasing Europe but I can't deny he has got better. Harrison looks to be going backwards quite a few times has lost players he is marking and passing is off and doesn't attack fullbacks anymore looks like Costa who to me just doesn't cut it, I never expect him to create anything when has ball.

Harrison is a strange one - almost it’s as if his brain gets overloaded and freezes rather than being instinctive. Shame as he has talent but definitely something is wrong - maybe confidence or just overthinking things rather than playing what he sees.

Heard a rumour Cresswell could be going to Preston on loan
