Its relevant Laddo, because even tho we are congratulating sutton on their promotion, one then has to ask how they have achieved this on minimal budget and resources compared to Notts

The answer or large reason for Notts failure at this level ( not to mention the relegation that your so keen to forget)was down to Ardleys incompetence , and his poor style of defensive play that allowed poor teams to beat us regulary.

Both the current owners, and Hardy, gave Ardley every chance to be competitive on the the field , by backing him heavily,. Interesting question for you, over his time at the club, how many of his own players did Ardley bring in, yet he still could not sort it out

In fairness probably his only good loan signing this season. The rest and many of his later permanent ones are a crock of.....

There is so many things i could accuse Ardley of how long is your Arm?
You that obviously does not think, before you write, and just write everything to defend your idol

I said his STYLE of defensive play, because its negative in approach and lets teams come onto us ( proven in key matches , where he had no answer to the high press) most teams in this division with respect are poor outfits, where notts must impose themselves, with a belief to win, from the offset most of Ardleys games against these types of sides were undecided into the closing stages of games, with it possible to swing either way - not good enough

By the time Ardley left i do not think we had let in the least goals, the brief time we did for about a week, all of the clubs apart from about 5 had scored more goals, because of ardleys negative set up, and ideas
So what we had a good defense, at the expense of attacking, winning football

I am in the pro NCFC camp, neither pro/anti Ardley. On a positive for him when we were possibly going to cease to exist, he stayed and in very little time built up a team that got to the playoff final. On the negative his playoff final was bad, second season OK(ish) but not confident we would have got promoted. Therefore whilst I would have remained loyal my confidence would not have been great.

If your asking if IB is better that NA, the answer is yes. The one pro Ardley point I will make is that if he left we would have had nothing as a squad last season at the start.


Final point is regardless of the pro/anti Ardley battle all deserve respect for their opinions. Please to all, either side, keep it balanced.

It is simply not just black and white! I was pro-Ardley when he was here, but that doesn't mean that he did no wrong in my eyes. No team in any league has any right to win promotion, just because of budget, or tradition. Look at the Championship table, how dare Brentford get into the play-off final while teams like Derby and Forest finish near the bottom (neither team got a win in their last 5 matches).

Now I am pro-Burchnall. And will be unless things get really bad.
