    Coventrys cup game moved

Their Carabao cup game against Bristol C moved to Burtons ground.Surely this can’t keep happening.

Whoever owns the arena gave an 'exclusive' tenancy to the Commonwealth Games, up until next week, with an allowance that CC could use it on match days.
They also allowed music concerts on it.

Were they taking 3 lots of rent for the same site?

If so, who was responsible for surface maintenance, if CC only had access on matchdays?
Wasps are rumoured to be in the poo over money. They signed an agreement with the Commonwealth organisers on Sept 3rd 2019 to lease the ground to them til Aug 14th. Coventry were playing at St Andrews then. Wasps promised to sort the pitch out after Coventry raised concerns at the end of the season. Anyone who saw the Rugby 7's could see that it wasn't a new pitch.
For Mark Robins to say that he hadn't seen the pitch until Friday, but surely someone from Coventry did? I don't think Coventry are squeaky clean in all this either..........where's the EFL when you need them? Maybe a different outcome if it had have been us?

Yes, they asked the local authority for a hand out to help with stadium development.

They had a bond scheme run online and the money raised was used to clear previous debts. Those that bought bonds have been reporting late payments on the bonds

Their Arena business latest set of filed accounts showed losses of £18.5m over the past two years and net liabilities of £54.7m.

    So yes, Wasps aren’t buzzing

I think the EFL cup game options, should be reversal of fixture to Bristol which sounds like it was explored but not possible or Coventry”s expulsion from the competition…

Trouble is with the EFL is they don’t remember their previous precedents…

I read that Coventry only had access to the arena on matchdays.

Someone (landlords) had responsibility for relaying the pitch.

I think Cov fans are as upset as we are about this situation.

Equally, the club. When you are expecting 20k for your first home game of the season, not good to have to find a tuesday night in autumn.

The first line is probably true.i know that happens at York city”s new community stadium…I think they only have access on a Saturday from something like 10am till 8 pm on matchdays..and there’s a lot of other intricacies surrounding that what people will never even think off that the agreement involves..

I see the club is putting on free coaches to take fans to Burton for the rearranged game

Coventry should reimburse any fan that can produce a valid rail ticket alongside a match ticket.
