There is yet another bust-up in the Royal Family about racism because an old dear asked a black lass "Where are you from?"

I'm going to have to reappraise my social "skill set" because it's a question I ask out of genuine curiosity.

A month ago, I boarded the train at Wigan bound for Euston and I was having a conversation with a black lass sat opposite me and asked, "Where have you come from".

She said she had been working for a couple of days in Glasgow and had boarded in Glasgow Central. I did not pursue the question any further and ask, "Thanks for that but where are you really from?"

I suppose it's how you frame the question, but in these days of "Super Wokeism" it's probably a question better not to ask.
