Spot on. I bet the owners were rubbing their hands when Rovers came a knocking.

Completely agree the owners have had me convinced for a long time even when we were in 'regression' in quite a few peoples eyes on here. I wasn't looking so much as where we finished in the the playoff positions or when we got knocked out of the playoffs. I was looking at the 'bigger picture' and all things I began to hate about how the club was previously run for far too long under multiple ownerships were disappearing quietly and professionally before my very eyes.

If they sell, I think it would be an almost certain downgrade, my only question would be to what degree. But you can't worry about that IMO. Absolutely no point thinking about it let alone worrying as we can't control it and have no idea if that will happen next year, or in 5, 10 or 20 years time.

"Hard to beat and gritty" was often referred to as defensive and settling for a point at the time. The benefit of time perhaps.

If we did become easier to beat then the stats say it's marginal at best and at quick first glance possibly not the case at all.

Some people preferred the football under NA, others under IB I'd imagine it's a fairly even split. As would be whether we progressed or regressed following the change. Whichever it was it was very marginal IMO. He certainly did more positive than just rejuvenate Adam Chicksen.

IB wasn't a bad manager, he just wasn't a great one. I feel that he had a few squad balancing issues to deal with and also lacked the ability to see our midfield was easily overrun. He was trying to fit Roberts and Rodrigues into a system that just didn't suit. In order to try and get them in, he then played Palmer as the defensive midfielder and we just got overrun. He also had Wootton as the main striker with very little competition and let's be honest, he was wasteful. He had the opportunity to be a Langstaff last year but wasted so many chances. Him putting them away would have made games a lot easier for us.

I think LW has only a couple of times not played one of JOB, Bajrami or Francis as the breaker in midfield. He knows Palmer is better suited up the pitch and we tend not to get overrun in midfield as much now. I think he once attempted to play Castro and Rodrigues together and quickly changed it second half

Nobody thanked Murphy/Thompson for building the foundations for Allardyce.
Barnwell wasn't given any credit for what Warnock did.
I don't see people praising McP for laying the groundwork for Cotterill.

We're 15 points better off at this stage than we were under the previous pair of clowns.
LW has made all of the difference.

LW has made a huge difference, clearly.

However to call the previous two head coaches/managers "clowns" is just plain wrong and disrespectful. Unless of course you started supporting Notts in 2019 or your memory is so bad you can't remember some of the men in charge prior to that pair. In that case fair enough, carry on.

The previous 2 Heads Coaches weren't clowns, they just aren't as good as LW (currently) and that's just life. I'd score NA 4/10 purely because of the relegation and IB 6/10

Without a doubt LW is an upgrade on IB, but I can't agree with all the negative comments about Burchnall, particularly those about the manner of his departure. He only did what many posters would do and saw an opportunity to progress and went for it.I

I wish him well, even if I am the only one.

Wouldn’t say backwards but no further on. What he did give us was better attacking style than Ardley and then LW came in and gave us the grit. More grit than Ardley as I believe LW has properly coached how to press, it’s not about running around like headless chickens but when and for how long. I think NA and IB understood the principles but LW knows more how to coach and more importantly take the players with him mentally to implement it.

No, he was rubbish. The Grimsby game said it all. Defined his tenure as much as Ardley's Harrogate game. Clueless. Embarrassing.
