#* After all, we were hit with a -10 for our first administration and then wallop! -17 for the second offence. #*
My question would be why so light a deduction?
    Big difference Brin.
They haven't gone into Administration this time.
4th late payment of wages in less than 12 months - where do you draw the line & say enough is enough.
    The 3 points deducted
is the suspended one - not a new one. The independent inquiry is because Wigan owners agreed to put £125% of monthly wages into an account so the problem with late payment of wages didn't happen.
Looks like their owners didn't adhere to the original agreement with the EFL.
No real comparison to an administration.

If Huddersfield decide to go into Administration before midnight this Thursday it's 12 points this season - if it's afterThursday it's deducted next season.

Godsend.F.C., yes I read that earlier and I did use wrong comparisons, just wanted to say something along the lines of, ''They've done it again!'' We all know what Hudders are going to do. Why miss out on an extra £5.4 Million by staying up and attempt to claw the -12 points back next season.

I read an article from Paul Ince around 10 days ago - he was quoted as saying he would prefer the deduction straight away rather than let it drag on.

Huddersfield Town would look a better proposition for new owners to takeover with zero debt & start again in League 1.
Clubs don't go into Administration as a choice - it's usually a last resort.

Yes there's that to consider as all debt will be written off at probably 10p in the £ and those owed suffer and all because of greedy over spending owners.

And there's me thinking we'd have a relaxing time until Hull. Fact is, we'll all be on tenterhooks awaiting the outcomes of various EFL enquiries - a bit like waiting for the final whistle when we're 2-1 up or awaiting the decision of the Referee about whether a game will be abandoned or not.

In any circumstance, it's never easy being a Miller!!

I don't know if Huddersfield will decide before Thursday whether to appoint an administrator.
I do know there are people out there that would buy them - very doubtful new owners would take substantial debt on.
It's only last season Huddersfield made the playoffs.

Just a thought - if Huddersfield do happen to go into admin this week & the administrator has to have a 'fire' sale to cut costs what about a cut price deal for REG - Mr Warnock played him at right back midweek against Norwich - he had a decent game - then against Millwall REG played in midfield - versatile player or what?

The first part is correct. The second point isn't
After Thursday if the club would have been relegated EVEN WITHOUT THE POINTS DEDUCTION, the deduction applies next season.
If the club would have stayed up WITHOUT THE DEDUCTION then the deduction would apply this season. Which may or may not result in relegation.
    EFL rules 2022 - 2023:
    12.3.1 during the Normal Playing Season but prior to 5.00pm on the fourth Thursday in March, the points deduction shall apply immediately;

12.3.2 during the Normal Playing Season but after 5.00pm on the fourth Thursday in March, Regulation 12.4 shall apply; and

12.3.3 outside the Normal Playing Season, the points deduction shall apply in respect of the following Season such that the Club starts that Season on minus 12 points (including in the National League if appropriate).

12.4 Where the circumstances set out in Regulation 12.3.2 apply and at the end of that Season, having regard to the number of championship points awarded (ignoring any potential deduction):

12.4.1 the Club would be relegated in accordance with Regulation 10.1.2(b) or 7.7, the points deduction will apply in the next following Season (including in the National League if appropriate); or

12.4.2 the Club would not be relegated as aforesaid, the points deduction will apply in that Season and Regulation 10.1.2(b) or 7.7 will then apply (if appropriate) following imposition of the points deduction.

    Thanks for the corrections wrinkly.
Would rather we survive on our own merits rather than rely on points deductions for other clubs.
