Surely that can’t be right

it’s never good when anything/one dies but at least they get put down and don’t suffer like us humans have to suffer

You should've used one of the bookmakers who guarantee best odds, Ladbrokes, Corals etc ELK. I got 9/1 and 10/1 but I only had a £2 and a £1 bet on it, with a £1 e.w. on the 3rd horse. I was going to have another £2 on the winner but fell asleep after watching our game against Luton. I felt gutted when I missed the start of the race.

I have a account with Bet Fred, which I use normally for football bets, & French Lotto, so used same account for bets.

Since the first Grand National in 1839, 89 horses have died during the race itself, with nearly 15 of these deaths taking place between 2000 and 2022.

Betting against their team losing is the same as betting for their team to win. Just a strange way of phrasing it.

I assume you mean we bet against our team winning. I’m a gambler and I’ve never even bet for us to concede a goal. Let alone against us to win.

My opinion is that the race is barbaric. I'm not a huge animal lover, but sending horses to their potential death doesn't sit easily with me. And all for the benefit of gamblers, who I regard as, sorry, the lowest of the low. Then again, that is just me, and I have strong options about the subject.
