Purely conjecture, but wonder if Sky had not requested a 12-30pm kick-off, whether the conditions at 3pm would have allowed the game to take place. Whatever, Grimsby have treated the Notts players and supporters very poorly.

I agree. Fans and our players coaches and club for me have been treated with disrespect and disregard. The team bus I understand had also left? There must simply be common sense and consideration for travelling teams and fans when deciding what time to make these decisions. Time and time again our club has been on the end of other clubs failures to make decisions in good time as to if a game is on or off. It will also cost Grimsby in staff wages, catering and everything else required on match day as well as they would have turned up for work.

Grassroots football operates better in these situations. Called off the day or evening before so everyone can do other things with their day.

If Sky want televised games playing at lunchtime in the middle of winter when temperatures are forecast to be freezing overnight they should as a minimum provide warm air blowers and a tent.

Also why could they not get a local referee to do a 9am-9:30am pitch inspection on behalf of the match referee? That extra hour could have made so much difference.

We have had so many games at silly times this year and I doubt the small payment we get from sky compensates. The EFL has sold it's members and soul down the river for a quick buck !

No doubt there'll be more before seasons end too, as well as a Thursday night trip to Port Vale next month...

I would bet a few quid on Sky not wanting to broadcast the match when it is re-scheduled on a cold Tuesday night!!

It's been said above several times, nobody cares about supporters, or for that matter, teams as well. The all important thing is Sky will insist on the postponement being left as late as possible on the off-chance the game can be played. The EFL took the money and now we do as we are told.

Never a truer word said! EFL is so desperate to fill it's coffers it will dance to any Masters tune.

Because they were burying their heads in the sand ! Or a frost bitten frozen Pich so they could ignore the reality!

Such an odd situation. Freezing all week, yet their comms have tried to make out the game was never in doubt because of their miracle frost covers. Covers which might do the trick for one cold night, but never for a week.

Why on earth they didnt arrange an inspection for last night is anyones guess. A totally avoidable waste of everyones time and money.
