Well we've played most of the games now, the unprecedented rainfall seems to be subsiding, after Tuesday it'll have a three weeks with no game so you'd hope the sheep game was the worst it will be

I’m with you on that one. But I know it’s not everybody’s cup of tea. However my angle for this is not so much the quality of the weather and pitches which notwithstanding the quality of Scottish ‘summers’ would surely be better. Instead, summer football would place us collectively at a much stronger negotiating point when it comes to TV revenues. Sky would bite your hand off for the ability to show year round TV football and you would think would be prepared to pay for it. Similar thing happened to Rugby League down south some time ago which is financially much better now. You also only have to look at the League Of Ireland recently to see how their teams are performing in Europe now following changing to summer football some time ago. Plus, the hilarity of Septic v The Rangers on the Twelfth of July live on the telly would be popcorn munching box office gold.

theres limited work that can be done on the pitch due to u/soil heating pipes, im sure the top few inches will have been compacted and its this area that will cause any issues

Not really, the reserves should play at Tannadice, but f the pitch looks like it will get ruined for a period then move to a ground very near by.

The reserves played at Tannadice before, they should play at Tannadice again. However as pointed out by geofoxposse the above point would be the correct action to take if the weather was bad like it has been in the past couple of months. Got a fair few fans in who were really interested in the future prospects.

However I'd like to say this academy system that is in place now is just bullsh!t bingo that is nothing more than a tick box operation that clubs have signed up to. Has it bore the fruits of the reserves? Go back to the eighties and you had "s form" signings playing regularly and then coming to the club for coaching then getting in the reserves. Fast forward to now and young players are not getting game time and spend time on the bench. No reserve games but bounce games if they are lucky. Reserve games let the fans see the youth coming through but they were also playing beside players on the fringes of the first team and first team players coming back from injury. You also got a look at trialists the club had brought over to look at.

The notion that the reserves could play at Tannadice is utterly ridiculous. Sorry, but it is.
