Jeez, now you have been in the land where they still think its the 1960's or possibly 1950's there, in fact I reckon some still think the WW2 is ongoing! Thankfully, the North Sea is doing its bit to eradicate that bit of the Uk, so a combination of age and climate change should be enough to remove them!

Your disdain for the good people of Norfolk is noted Swale, but it’s a bit ironic when you slate people for their dislike of people from overseas when you can’t even be nice about your fellow countrymen.

I’ve also just done a quick rethink of people in the vicinity of the conversation yesterday and don’t think any were from Norfolk

Personally...as far as that particular ‘electorate’ is concerned I suspect they’d still have Johnson back over Sunak. Not suggesting that’s indicative of all Tory voters.
The conversation I overheard yesterday didn't contain any members of partliament, or I'm guessing Tory Party members, or even for that matter Tory voters. I was simply offering an observation that Joe Public seems quite impressed by her willingness to call into question a number of things that 'they' (Joe public, and I'll grant you it was a small sample) believe are valid points.

This brings to mind an earlier conversation about popular v populist

Seems to me that common sense has prevailed. It’s Armistice Day i.e. the day when a cessation of hostilities is called for. The march in support of a cease fire is to go ahead but not until midday and not very close to the Cenotaph so shouldn’t everyone be ‘happy’?

No thanks, imo, to Braverman with her ridiculous talk of ‘hate marches’, ‘life style choices’ and police favouritism, but someone somewhere, be it the police, those supporting the Palestinians/Gazans, or both, seems to have seen sense.

Stretching it a bit to describe my description of the denizens of a tiny part of the Uk and indeed a small settlement in Norfolk as expressing distaste for my fellow countryman or even the people who inhabit Norfolk ( many of whom I count as being friends of mine). Anyway many of those living in Hemsby are not from Norfolk, they are folk who are looking for refuge from the current century and reality.

Mm you should be a politician with your tendency to exaggerate and misinterpret whats said! But then you have previous form for this. your of the Truss school of life, ignore the obvious flaws in ones arguments, disregard the facts, tell fantasy tales and generally talk utter *******s.

But why would any sentient person have anything but disdain for people who expressed any sort of agreement with the bile being spewed by a Home Secretary whose job it is to assist in governing a country in a peaceful and positive manner?

The very fact there are people you heard weren't saying "This is disgraceful, a Minister in one of the most important roles in Government openly pressurising and politicising the Police for their own ends, stoking up division and all for her own personal political ends" should be enough for any decent person to slate them.

The fact that your line of argument has centred on noting that there are people who seem to agree with her words and actions and not whether its acceptable behaviour is also telling. I see you fella!

That was always the case rA, the protest march was never going anywhere near the cenotaph, Braverman, backed by some of the right wing media have been spouting nonsense as is always the case. The met Police Chief has stood firm in the face of unacceptable and shameful pressure from politicians who may well indeed have made the situation worse by encouraging extremists of all persuasions to make mischief.

We are going to see much more of this from the Government, as they have nothing left to do but try and lay waste to the Uk, further whipping up false sentiment and appeal to the rabble without a cause!

Interesting to hear from a chap on the news this am who is attending the Cenotaph AND the Palestine protest (peacefully I presume), and wouldn’t it be nice if more did that (or all for that matter).

She’s a bit of a loose cannon but she does seem to have a point on the police favouritism thing, even BBC seemed to be agreeing there’d been inconsistencies regarding high profile marches in the last few years
