I?ve got thick skin mate, you can?t upset me. Let?s take the immigrant (me) out of the equation?do a quick google and see how many 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation Aussies feel the same way about the numbers that have recently come in, compounding the housing crisis. I?d say it?s high on the list of people that are totally pi55ed with the way Albo is running the country and probably why he?s only going to last one term.

Ive still no idea why youre different from the immigrants youre complaining about. Presumably youre taking a house that could be owned/rented by 2nd 3rd 4th generation Aussies as well?

In other news Trumps administration sides with Russia, N Korea and Belarus in a vote about Ukraine at the UN.

It's because he's a "good" immigrant rather than a "bad" immigrant, the sort who pays his way and obeys the rules. Just like the vast majority over here who never, ever get mentioned in the media.

Humans evolved in southeast Africa. Everywhere else, we're all immigrants.

Yeah. Its like those British immigrants in Spain who call themselves expats.

I would think most countries welcome immigrants that come to work and integrate into their new home. We can learn a lot from different cultures. But also they don’t welcome the ones who come to sponge of the country or try to change it to the one they have left. They should first learn the language of their adopted country (yes that includes the ex pats in places like Spain). They miss out so much if they can’t speak the native tongue.

This is a former right wing Prime Minister of Australia giving an honest appraisal of Trump and what he's up to. First two minutes are enough to get the idea.

Interesting and measured. I was waiting for the bit when somebody (in this case Turnbull) called out China as essentially, the potential victor in Trump's posturing. They've always struck me as having a long term plan, which contrasts with Putin's plan being no longer term than the opportunity to get his shirt off. And they're already looking to undercut the US in AI and it'll be interesting to see the reaction within the US if DJT tariffs US businesses out of getting good value (albeit at the expense of its own AI industry).

    Interesting times and challenging.

Personally I find them frightening times.

Perhaps Europe should kick the Yanks out of all the military bases and I hope they have been charged in full for the support provided in the USA's Iraq wars and backing for other wars that America seemed keen to involve themselves in since the end of WWII.

I doubt that Europe could do much to stop an American/Russian land grab but the rest of the Western world surely could make things uncomfortable for Trump if they got their act together. And it seems that even with good access to facts that the gullible can be led by propaganda and misinformation (well done Musk).

Sadly, the only end result I can see for this is Ukraine being shafted. Trump will claim he sorted the war, and Putin will save face.
