Reminded me of the Pele/Banks save of Mexico 1970. Almost as good.

An absolutely outstanding save that should be replayed many times over, many years, it was that good. His reactions were that of a cat, never seen a keeper move like that for many a year. Thing is though he's Turkish so it will probably air in the next Euros.

    Euro match reports

Some would say this should be the final considering how these two teams have gone about their business during their Euro games. Well it's not and one of these 'big' guns has to leave the competition this evening so who's it going to be?

Looking back on their previous history, is it too close to call?

This will be the two sides' fourth meeting at the European Championship, with Spain winning in 1984 and 2008 and Germany winning in 1988. The most famous one was Spain's 1-0 win in the Euro 2008 final with Fernando Torres scoring the only goal.
Their last meeting was a 1-1 draw in the 2022 World Cup group stage.
Germany have only won one of the last eight meetings, with Toni Kroos scoring a late winner in a 1-0 friendly in 2014.

All sounds a bit one sided in Spain's favour but the modern game has moved on since then and both teams are different. No doubt Spain seem to have more fluidity down the wings but the Germans look more solid in midfield.

In CAM's competition I've said Spain will reach the final so I'm sticking to that, a close call with the result being
    Spain 1 v 0 Germany.....let's see if I'm right.

Euro game today - Portugal v France ..... KO 20.00

Well well, two of the biggest names in the world of football go head to head tonight.

    Ronaldo v Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappe says it is "an honour" to play against Cristiano Ronaldo as France prepare to take on Portugal in their Euro 2024 quarter-final. He describes it as "a pleasure" to face Portugal's five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
"It's the admiration I've always had for Cristiano, for the player. Over time, I've had the chance to get to know him and talk to him many times. We're still in touch," said Mbappe.
"He's always trying to give me advice and keep up to date with what's going on. Playing against him is an honour for everything he's done in football.
"No matter what happened before or what happens after, he'll always be a legend of the game. But of course we hope to win and reach the semi-finals."

Ronaldo, 39, said this week it would be his last Euros so this showdown with Mbappe is being described as a "handover" between two great players.
But Mbappe says the Portugal legend is "unique" and he will follow his own path when he begins his stint with Madrid.
"There will only be one [Ronaldo] I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to start living my dream as a player in Madrid," he added. I hope I'll write a great story there, but I'm certainly not going there to write the rest of Cristiano's story. What he did in Madrid is unique.
"You have to appreciate what he has been, what he is. I've never been an envious person, so I just want to admire the greatness of the player.
"He left his mark on the history of football. He inspired generations. He has scored many goals and won many titles. So his CV speaks for itself."

Looking at France's goal record in this competition it reads, scored 3 by courtesy of 2 own goals and 1 penalty, not a lot to shout about there. meanwhile Portugal have scored 5 and conceded 3 so again, only a +2 goal difference as to France's 1.

Although France have the younger more nimble side, Portugal have a talent of wealth and older heads and it is this that they hope will see them through. Too close to call so I'm asking LolMorgan for his prediction.......over to you Lol.
