It seems to have all gone quiet on the takeover front? Not sure how much truth was in some of the rumours, but you would have thought that if they were true....then we would have heard somethingmore substantial by now. If it is the case that we head into another season with MO at the head of the ship, then he is going to have to spend wisely to try and ensure we continue in the top league after next season...or he is eventually going to have to give up on ever getting a return on the club. I just hope that we aren't dragging our heels on getting players in until we know what is happening with the club as any uncertainty will definitely put off any potential signings. Players want security...and we are needing a helluva lot of players!
A takeover or a link up with new investment can take months and tbh I wasn't expecting as soon as the last match was over there'd be an announcement.
MO will have agreed the player budget some time ago and I'm sure our recruitment guy is working hard on that with JG now.
The only thing that might change things would be if new owners or new investors came in before August we'd maybe see that budget increase a wee bit.
Watching teams like St Mirren, County, Motherwell last season tells me we need some physicality added in to the mix but I'm sure JG is on the case. We can't afford to get bullied out of points that are there for us.
Close season is always a bit frustrating but hopefully our patience is rewarded.
It's definitely still on. I wouldn't expect any news until everything is finalised.
That's good news. I think we are at a very important crossroads as a club and I am not sure if MO is necessarily the right man to take it forward in it's current state. It needs fresh eyes and hopefully somebody with a better understanding of football to be involved. Fingers crossed that the off field stuff doesn't slow down the onfield stuff!
