I wouldn't give it to Devlin. He's only played 11 games for us. He's still learning. Get someone in with all that money we are meant to have. Time for a proper signing.

Unfortunately we are not graced with a stockpile of leaders on the pitch.

Joe Lewis? He is vocal has played a good few games and also sees the whole game. Ive always thought Keeper or CB or Sweeper should be captain

I'd prefer him to just stick to goalkeeping. Likewise McKenna (for however long) and Devlin to stick to defending.

Shinnie should be moved tonleft back of we dinna get a LB in.

Hes not in our future plans so he can fill the hole thats been makeshifted for long enough. This freeing up space in the middle to see if the likes of Gleeson amd Forrester are any use. Id play both on Sat

Id agree with this, but without disrespecting Stenhousemuir, I'd also be inclined to get Devlin and Hoban some game time too (if match fit).

    Possibly go with: -

    Lewis
Logan (maybe even Virtanen) Devlin McKenna Hobban
    Ferguson Gleeson
    McLennan Wilson GMS
    Cosgrove

    Subs: -

    Czerny
    Considine
    Shinnie
    Forrester
    Campbell
    May
    McGinn

Be prepared to take on Considine and Shinnie for Devlin and Hobban (if only playing for say 60 mins) and then Forrester for Wilson / Cosgrove

Neither Devlin or Hobban will be fit for saturday, and doubt May or Logan will be risked either, but agree that Virtanen should start.

    Lewis
    Virtanen Consi McKenna Shinnie
    Ferguson Gleeson
    McLennan Campbell GMS
    Cosgrove

I agree about putting Shinnie at left back. Not sure I would squeeze Forrester into the team though.

If you were earning £200k pa and had a chance to go and earn £500k pa for two or three years, in a progressive city like Manchester, and you had a young family to support when you retire in 7 or 8 years (with a debilitating illness which may restrict that timescale) why the hell wouldn't you go?

    1) Crohn's disease does not necessarily mean its debilitating his performances and can be managed.
Shinnie has shown in his time here that he manages his condition well

    2) Having a family can be a significant factor, far outweighing money in decisions as to where to bring up that family.
No-one is arguing that he could earn more elsewhere, he had that opportunity before he joined us, but joined us because of those family preferences.
They may have changed now his daughter is a bit older, but they may also prefer the stability.
His condition may be another factor no a preference to stay stable, albeit Manchester is not the other side of the world
