Actually, the labels on the turnstiles were a bit misleading. The two options were 'Notts County fans only' and 'Ilkeston Town fans only' . Anyone who didn't know about the cash going to unpaid Notts staff would just have gone to the relevant one. I paid my three quid at the Notts one, then bought a half-time pint to contribute to the home club.

I was told that Ilkeston staff are in the same situation as our staff.

Chap standing next to me kept saying "I can't believe it they are passing to each other didn't see that all last season" I had to agree with him, the passing was excellent be interesting to see if they can do it against better opposition.

To clarify the league ladder. As we are now non league we fall under that rule.
Notts are Step 1. Ilkeston are step 4. My other club Long Eaton whom Ilkeston got promoted from are step 5. So Ilkeston are 3 levels below Notts.
National league.
North South
EVO stick northern Premier
EVO stick Northern league South East. (I think that's what it's called now

Ilkeston looked a fair bit below Nuneaton from last week. Always tricky to tell in friendlies and we are a week further on but I thought we looked committed both matches, Ardley deserves praise for keeping the show on the road, he's not getting paid either.
I thought Crawford looked pretty decent, rarely lost the ball and seems to always be in a bit of space to receive the ball.
