Yes 'The Shed' originally referred to the enclosure at the west end of the ground and transferred onto the fan base who assembled there. For a small band of us who did not hail from the City of Dundee, who gathered in the original Shed, but were not part of the Dundee culture of the Club, the term, 'The Shed' transferred onto the team, and in fact all things Dundee United. I have had this fact out several times before. It appears to be anathema to some of the support who identify with the city culture of 'The Shed.' Please spare a bit of understanding for those of us, albeit few, who grew up supporting Dundee United and referred to them as the Shed. True we were aliens to the city itself, but our love for the club was no less than those who grew up in the city, perhaps moreso on account of having to save up our pocket money and expend all of it once a fortnight to visit the Shed.

As for Middle Eastern Sanitary Technician, I am not alone in feeling his absence. He was a good stimulant for this board.

I don't want you to get a ban. I might not agree with you some of the time, but you are entitled to your opinions and also to relate to things as per your experiences. We can all learn from one another. In my parlance you appear to have been a 'Shed' longer than me. I commenced at the end of 1969-70 season.
Apologies mate. I had a bit of a bad night last night and ended in a meltdown. We all say things we regret sometimes and I'm no different. Arabest.

not saying he would have stopped us from losing as we were shocking but sometimes we need more aggression in the team.
I think their strikers positioning was superb in that situation and both Watson and Reynolds switched off to what was right in front of them. By the time Watson reacted and got there, the striker was already in the turn. Their discipline in the situation against our overall lack of effort is what made the chance for them, and their second.

yeah so many things wrong with both goals. need to be sharper to the striker movement by not allowing him to turn. even then watson needs to still engage with striker or reynolds needs to step forward to put real pressure on him as at that point the striker on the ball was only boy forward with both their wingers getting up there. Sporle body shape for the goal is horrendous he should be opening up his body so he could see ball and the wide player who ends up scoring. the lack of reaction from anyone is poor.

2nd goal again the boy holds off butcher just inside their half then is able to switch ball inbehind. should pause the play at that point and see where our team is! shambolic. liam smith is in centre of the park for some reason. Sporle is ahead of the ball. reynolds is in a left back position. watson is standing next to benji it seems. mcmullan ends up back in a right back position. all over the place! mcmullan should show the boy onto his weaker left foot down the line but doesnt and i think watson should come across and help mcmullan and not allow him to come inside. similar to first the lack of reaction is worrying

    shambolic all round!

Don't worry about it Stokes lad. You're a good guy....and a fellow 'Shed' at that! Sometimes it just takes a bit of communication to sort things out and hey...I do appreciate that I overdo things at times, which might irritate some folks. I mean well though. Great to finsh with 'Arabest!' Much appreciated.

Stoke has shown himself to be a good man. A lesson for all of us.

Like so many times over and over again for several seasons, there was simply very little work ethic and aggression from midfield.

It wouldn't matter if Hegarty, Narey etc were at CB, if they are bombarded enough or constantly allowed to be ran at from Mid then they would also capitulate.

They drew with Hearts today and won the bonus point

Doesn't make the loss any better but they deserved credit on the night, these group stages don't usually tell us who will do well in the league campaigns but they may be one to watch in league one this season

    Absolutely Shedka.

Fair play to them, that's a couple of great results for them.
