He hasn't played that much competitive football this season and last time he took a while to adjust

But after then he was fabulous
Yes he did have a slow start, so slow that there were some regulars on here calling him a waste of space. Oddly most of them now seem to have changed their minds.

I think the Solihull Moors game showed he's not suited to 'pub' football as he was subbed at 3-0 and 15 minutes later it was 3-4.

I don't think I posted it on here but at 3-0 down in the Solihull game I certainly told my poor disinterested wife that he can f*** off back to Toon. Very happy to be wrong.

I do worry that he'll be the next Kevin Watson though. Not in terms of the quality as Watson was class, but that he might be a bit 'scapegoaty'

I think the fact that Barlaser turned his form around and showed us what he can do will (touch wood) prevent another Kevin Watson scenario. The fans have universally now taken to Barlaser. My worry would be more of a "richie tiwell" scenario, i.e. second season syndrome. We'll have to wait and see but my gut feeling is that Barlaser is a quality, top quality, footballer and he'll go on to earn the club a lot of money (even accounting for the NUFC sell on).

He may not get into the team at the minute.

Yes he might have to wait until after international break (next week) when the midweek games start

IMHO Watson was one of the best midfielders we’ve ever had, if Barlaser can match him then I’ll be happy.
