There is no doubt that Villa are a decent side. I don't think that they will be top six but top half certainly. Even if we'd had eleven men I couldn't see us getting anything out of the game. Sam has got a huge job on his hands and if I'm honest the odds must be against him succeeding. This is not pessimism, just a realistic assessment of the present situation. Sincerely hope that I'm proved to be wrong.

I agree! Turn back the clock though to the play offs against Villa. Had the board appointed a decent proven manager ( not a rookie ) we would have most likely won both legs. We were better than Villa and had a better squad but they got lucky because of parking the bus at their place and sending offs.

Quite right Al. Villa nearly went under due to the ownership of another Chinese chancer yet got rescued by responsible and wealthy owners prepared to invest. Since our Chinese owner we have gone backwards at an alarming rate. Its 100% about ownership and leadership I'm afraid.
