    I get the need to bring revenue into the club but our main objective is to stay in this league for the foreseeable, and having Shankland here next season helps us with that. As long as we get the right people around him this time. I have no problem with him leaving for a free next summer if that is what he wants to do.

    I agree, if wants to see out his contract with us I will be delighted.

    An extension would be a nice way of guaranteeing us a transfer fee (providing he can find his shooting boots again). As it stands we'll be losing him for nothing otherwise.

    Yeah clearly. But I'd much rather he had his eyes on staying with us next season.
