    Again just my opinion.
A lot of jobs need degrees and are stressful, many of them paying much less than nursing does. A lot of jobs that don't need a degree are stressful. Where do perks like free parking just because they 'do a good job' stop? We all 'do a good job' after all.

I would say a £34,000 starting salary for a 21 year old is very fair with the the shift money included…that will go up considerably after 2 years, then 4 years.

Would it not be better to consider a wage rise instead of free parking. What about those who travel by bus?

You can also argue that plenty other jobs also have "free parking" so why not staff at ninewells. Plenty porters, cleaners etc work there also.

Think it would be helpful to know how many car parking spaces there are available for patients and NHS workers. At present staff need to have a permit to park. How many permits are in place? How many more might be needed if all who work there took up the offer of a free parking space? Patients get a free 4hour slot with a no return policy. Again how many spaces are available and might free parking encourage greater demand. Have seen couples park in our road and get on the 22, using their bus pass to go to hospital. I think there is going to be more parking problems caused by this announcement.
