Intriguing thread this with some interesting reads particularly diets & exercise choices.

I stopped eating processed foods & meat over 3 years ago & stopped all alcohol intake as part of the research programme I'm in after my decision to stop taking medication.
Lost the four stone/25 kg in weight I'd put on which was mainly due to medication quite quickly and exercise vigorously daily and so far still in remission.

Mentally I've retrained my entire thought patterns process which was/is incredibly hard especially regarding food choices.

I agree with Hopey regarding intake of Zinc ?

After 10 years the analytical dept of the research team that monitors me have devised a daily programme now down to exact milligrams of what my body insides requires and more importantly my brain.

Moules or Mussels as they're called in UK are very high in Zinc & selenium nutrients so ideal for my condition [schizophrenia] alongside iron, vitamin C,which all plays a big role in the body's energy metabolism.
A bowl of moule/mussels delivers all that nutrient requirement & Mum goes down to the beach at low tide in all weathers to collect them daily from her secret pollution free rocks for me.

I guess my diet will pass the Bielsa test easily & hopefully keep Covid symptoms to a minimum if I have the misfortune to contract it.

The 'media' coverage on this subject has been overwhelming with so much misinformation from all avenues. Take your own decisions and keep your own counsel is my view - the funniest thing I have seen though is a localish woman on Facebook saying you shouldn't be injecting yourself with untested products - her posted picture of herself showed numerous self inflicted tattoos and over inflated pouted lips.

My confusion with the stats, UK, is the 'death within 28 days of a positive test', which is a tweak on the original. Whilst I am sure people die from Covid and others suffer long term most people die within 28 days of well anything you can think of.

To add to the confusion I believe Scotland and England record them slightly differently too.

There are more than a few weird responses on this thread that have me scratching my head.

That said, hopefully everyone manages to steer clear of infection by whatever means.

On a separate nore, I'd be extremely careful of faddy diets that recommend elevated levels of certain elements, vitamins or minerals. The recommended daily intake values weren't entirely plucked out of the pages of science fiction.

I had been taking "extra" vitamin C with a view to it making the cold and 'flu season less less severe.

I ended up getting a kidney stone, which wasn't much fun at all. That's all I'm going to say!

Regardless of the "research" you do.

I wasn't aware that a lot of us had choices. Sure, you can get fired but that's rather extreme. The lack of travel does not bother me but lack of gainful employment does.

Anyone with independent thinking ability knows that when something is mandated for your "own good" then something's not right.

of course, now we are going down the path of what's "fully vaccinated". Does not taking the booster shot mean you are no longer vaccinated? That will start happening in the next 6 months.

And yes, some things really do speak for themselves regarding head scratchers. Just like standing somewhere in Hershey PA and wondering whether the pervasive smell of chocolate could be from the factory. Having a virus (likely bioengineered with it's genome make up) start infecting people less than a mile from one of the most highest level IV virus labs in the world and then banning internal travel in the country but allowing it worldwide, all the while destroying and obstructing information gathering, speaks volumes on where this started and who did it.

Wise words Org regarding taking over the counter supplements.

Long term drug absorption issues created serious food absorbing issues for me hence my medically required food nutritional requirements.

Food is known to affect drug absorption by delaying gastric emptying time, altering the gastrointestinal pH, stimulating bile flow, increasing splanchnic blood flow - basically foods were physically interacting with drugs I was forced to take.

Fed up with walking around like a zombie on prescribed drugs I opted out of regulated medicines as the medical experts said a natural balanced supervised diet would stop permanent organ damage to my body in the long term.

Personally more early education on eating correct foods would help folks, better labels on foods & possibly encouraging cheaper vegetables pricing or provision for genuine cases of financial poverty would help many regarding essential food choice.

As you & others said - down to personal choice but for some not much choice and for me there was no other choice.
