Clearly Filey has a lot of knowledge of what was happening at the time he was working in the club and it's very interesting to hear what he has to say. The point you make about the club having money that the club could have spent pre- Allan Clarke era is possibly not correct Nudge. I don't think the gate receipts and therefore the interest from investors existed in that period. However, when a big name like Allan Clarke was recruited, that in itself probably brought the investment into the club as people saw it he opportunity to be part of something. It turned out to be a very exciting period and crowds came into the club.

It's Sky TV money and global coverage/ merchandising wealth that has led to all kinds of chancers taking over clubs "chasing the dream" of loads of money. All types of charlatans have become involved, even at Barnsley, as I may have pointed out occasionally. The horse has already bolted.

Please reconsider your decision not to post anymore Filey. It is interesting to know what went on behind the scenes at Barnsley in those days. I always take Nudger's views with a pinch of salt, as no doubt he does with mine. He often posts to provoke a response, some call it wind ups. Don't let his comments cause upset for yourself.

But these fellas don’t go around calling other people IDIOTS (and worse).

If you post something that I perceive to be wrong then I’ll answer it.
If you are capable of writing all the lengthy stuff that you write - then I know people far worse off than you.
Including it seems one or two on here that I try to steer clear of.
So as much as you try - you arn’t going to get the sympathy vote from me.
You should take that as a compliment.
As you think you are an expert on medical conditions I will explain that I have had left sided strokes which only affects the left side of my body (Left arm and leg)I am right handed so it doesn’t stop me writing.I was in a wheelchair for a long time but thanks to the NHS and physiotherapists I am able to walk again. Also during my time in the navy I was sent to Porton Down in September 1959 where they tested chemical weapons on us which resulted in my left lung bursting 3 times and my right lung once.I had to come out of the navy but because of the official secrets act I was not allowed to tell anyone what had happened at Porton Down not even the doctors who couldn’t understand why my lungs were busting.I had operations on both lungs which not only scared the lungs but scared my chest wall.these scars stick most days which means I can’t breathe for the pain until I can move about to get the lungs free. You can read all about what they did to us servicemen at Porton Down to make sure I am not lying. You can also check on an RAF lad called Ronald Madison who died in the same gas chamber. They had to have an inquest into his death but it was held in secret because of the official secrets act, they allowed his father to attend who was a coal miner from County Durham but he had to sign the official secrets act before he attended the inquest which meant that he couldn’t even tell the boys mother how her son had died. This poor coal miner was a civilian but it frightens you to death when they explain what the penalties are for going against the act. When I came out of the navy I worked to raise my family although my health did break down from time to time and I was put out of work but I always started again and found other jobs and it wasn’t until my first stroke in 1997 that I had to stop work. When my eldest son was joining the navy I told him that if he was told he was going to Porton Down to refuse, when he asked why I told him I couldn’t tell him. When I was in hospital after the operation on my right lung my Dad came to see me with pipes coming out of my chest connected to a pump under the bed pumping all the rubbish from my inside. My Dad is long dead now but I didn’t tell him what they had done to me and he never knew.I was a 19 year old sailor when I went to Porton Down and after the operations I couldn’t play football anymore but I have carried on the best I could but after all that has happened to me I never expected to reach the age I am now, that is why I always say “they will have to shot me to get rid of me” The official secrets act no longer is active in our cases but I did find out that the chemical weapon agent they used on us was Sarin which is one of the worlds most poisonous gasses. When I was walking round that gas chamber I carried a little rabbit in a cage and we were ordered to carry on walking after the poor rabbits had died,I must have gone down because the next thing I knew we were all on the grass outside of the building. You may have heard about “The Gulf War syndrome “ it was first reported to be caused by some radiation reaction but the latest reports say it was most likely caused by Sarin which now looks as though I have had “Gulf War Syndrome “for over 60 years even before the Gulf War.
Now Nudger perhaps with all your knowledge you will come up with something to cure my problems but please don’t expect me to take any advice you offer. You have upset me and maybe others with your wild and untrue stories.I object to you blackening the reputations of the past directors of Barnsley Football Club. All this upset you have caused is not doing my Heath any good in fact it is making it worst so I am reluctantly retiring from this site so I will leave you to upset the others. It is quite obvious that you had no idea what happened in the club in the past but I only wish you can see the error of your ways and stop.

I thank you SB but what Nudger is doing accusing the directors that we worked with and became friends with Bleeding the club dry is just like saying they were fiddling. I wonder how he would feel if I wrote “I remember Young Nudger some of his mates went out robbing banks and post offices” I don’t think he would like it and it would be wrong of me to do it.Unlike him I would never accuse anyone of doing something knowing it was wrong but to Nudger it doesn’t matter who he hurts he just wants to carry with his stories that have been proved to be untrue time and time again.Once again thank you
