Thread: Sheffield United Post Match Thoughts

This result has been coming, we did a superb job on dem Blades who simply had no answer to superb defending who have been scoring for fun at home, absolutely awesome display from every single player and we defended immensely. Would we have won that game under PW? I think not.....in MT we trust!

Tbf he got great support last night as soon as he came on. I know it's easier when we're winning but the booming EEEEAVES from the away end as he came on is fast becoming his trademark. I was in the corner and he got great support down there when he was shielding the ball. He looks absolutely immense close up btw and easily held off two Blades. it's all about learning how to channel that big physical presence. When his fitness levels improve, I think MT will make good use of him. He's a very different option to our other pacier players.

All the best to your grandad Wiles, I’m sure he’ll be well proud.

Scorer Ben Wiles’ family watching in the #rufc end. Wiles hoping his grandad, Blades legend Eddie Colquhoun, who has sadly been ill, was tuning in on the Sky red button

Had my ticket but wan't looking forward to the game at all for reasons which we'll all understand. What followed was all the better for the reluctance to go. Absolutely fantastic performance and atmosphere in the away end that will stay long in the memory.

Really think we've struck gold with this manager, no matter where we end up this season. Think he's the man to take us forward.

(How have they got the cheek to charge £34 for those 'seats' though and why did Victor get booked because of a bad pass from a ball boy?"

Fantastic all round, we really deserved that after the harsh points dropped at Coventry and Burnley, not to mention the defeat to 12 man Norwich.

I'm not really interested in comparing Warne to Taylor, it's a new era, it's Matt Taylor's era and his methods (and in Jan hopefully we'll see his recruitment skills) are all I'm focused on now.

Like many I was somewhat dreading last night and said to a friend before kick off I just wanted to get through the 90 with no more injuries. Hopefully Kioso isn't badly hurt and will be back with us very soon. There was always a shred of hope that the script goes out of the window in a local derby and we made that happen last night with an incredible performance all round.

UTM, proud of the entire team and staff

I am also beginning to like Mat Taylor. No nonsense in defence but trying to play a bit of football further up the pitch. Interesting Wiles comments after the game which suggested he was not that enamored with warne in the end which is surprising because warne seemed to think he could do no wrong!

The Millers came with a plan stuck to it and limited us to very few chances. It was a shocking "performance" from us,especially after how brilliant we'd been v Burnley but the Millers deserve some credit for our performance being so poor. Well done to the Millers. UTB
