I actually heard a guy on the Newcastle Matters podcast recently that reminded me of me. It was strangely reassuring. He was just sick of waiting for success and says he wants success now. It’s impatience, with a little something else I can’t quite pinpoint.
That little something else… could it be the thought that if we don’t win something soon, the dream will slip further away.

Footballers have a short career, if they’re not winning with us, they’ll move to a club that is winning and we say good bye to our best players.

We’ve seen it time and again where clubs get so close then fall away again… Everton, West Ham, Leicester (they did win though look at them now - couldn’t sustain success), Spurs.

Yes, quite so. Patience is a virtue. If the management were without patience they would be buying every has been that came onto the market, instead of what they are doing now. Building for the future but giving us hope today.

Those of you who say you are impatient for success just cast your minds back a very short three seasons and look what we had to look forward to then in the way of hope or the way of success and be grateful for what we have now and the progress the club has made in only two short seasons.

If you can't do that then you don't deserve to be happy with how far we have come in such an unbelievable short time.

Bit harsh. It's not simply impatience out of any sort of entitlement.

I think Guybrush is onto something. I think it is a fear that it will all go tits up. It's like a built in fear that's not entirely logical but comes from decades of disappointment.

But the situation where the decades of disappointment were created are totally different to the situation with the club today.

If it's illogical then it's without reason, so just don't entertain it. All it does is spoil the present for you. You just need to enjoy what is now, which is superior to what we had a couple of seasons back.

    It's as simple as that.
