Is it just an optical illusion, or is there quite a slope down from the pitch surface to the advertising boards? Which could be a bit dangerous?

For years there was a slope before Hardy did a half heart pitch reconstruction that took off a few inches

Absolutely bleddy fantastic.
A credit to all those at the club who participated, especially the brothers who financed it and the groundsman and his team.
I hope the players do it justice. There's been lots of negativity on here about them but I'm confident Stuart Maynard is going to come good and Jones and Jatta are going to be headliners.

Any fresh looking pitch always reminds me of a scene from The Damned United.

Brian Clough walks alongside the grounds am and says he wants the pitch like a carpet… ‘Well you can’t effing train on it then.’

The 'picture straighteners' will always have to live with the fact that the Jimmy Sirrel and Pavis stands are not parallel though.

Anyone remember the old Baseball Ground? When you stood at the front, the pitch was about two foot higher than your feet. Or it seemed that way as a kid.

I remember us playing at Elland road in a cup game in the late nineties early 2000’s (yellow away kit with Magoie across it) and we had tickets in the first row behind the goal. We were head level with the goalkeepers shin pads! Really weird angle to watch a game.
