Signed Omar Bogle! Must mean CBR's gone? LB just said he was looking for 2 more permanent signings, then this.
Omar Bogle???? That MUST mean CBR is on his way.
So 2 big muscley big men up front. What system are we
playing next season???
I had my eye on Bogle at the end of last season as back up. He's a bit slow and lumbering but scored a couple against us the season before last.
So we're going to have an ageing strike force! Wondering if they're doing extra work on Tracey's final ball into the box??
Watching Bogle's interview he says he likes to be wanted, and that LB was prepared to push the boat out to get him - not a fee as he was a free agent, but signing on fee or wages? More spending after the 2 fees we're paying - interesting. Wonder what's left in the budget, must be enough for at least one more signing. (What do they do if CBR suddenly decides to sign?)
Keeper I agree may well be loanee, but if they're a good Premier League youngster not sure what the incentive for parent club if likely to sit behind Booth. (And unlikely to be in the camp too early.) No sign in the videos from Portugal of anyone in the opposite goal to Booth as they practice, which I'd have thought was a disadvantage in training, unless they're carefully not showing us. As I said before, is Westwood still round the place?
Who is the other one going to be? We definitely need a dedicated left-back with pace and crossing ability. Will need a a loanee CH for half a season as cover. Possibly similar as a winger. But where else for a permanent signing?
I suspect the keeper will be a loanee. Can't imagine an experienced goalie signing and accepting the idea of possibly being 2nd choice to a 20 year old. If they were, then it might mean they are another Richards-type.
As you say, LB seems to hint that he won't be going for one. In which case, you have to wonder, again, what style of play will be adopted. Rio's influence was all over the pitch but mainly he got the play upfield before demonstrating excellent crossing ability. He also frequently turned up in attacking positions, adding weight to the attack and was an excellent header of the ball. So one player who is a significant loss. Where will the distribution come from - the other alternative for getting the ball forward last season was MickeyD driving forward and hitting longish balls behind. I hope that the midfield is going to take a lot more of the responsibility.
CBRs offer expired at end of June, hence pushing the boat out for Bogle.
Apparently CBR didn't turn up on the 1st July
