"These players who are used to getting coached by Pep,Arteta,Klopp,Ancelotti and their ilk-can you imagine what they say to each other in private about Gareth?"

A very good point CiB, the players aren't stupid, no matter what they say to the media, they will know, like most of the fans, that Gareth is tactically clueless. I would think his decision to send Grealish home is probably the straw that broke the camel's back, the players were apparently shocked and Harry Kane had to go and ask Gareth just WTF he was doing, so he could give some explanation to the rest of the squad. I doubt the players trust him anymore, nor do they particularly want to play for him, they can see like the fans, that he's holding them back. When the manager has lost the players, you get performances like the last one, a world class player like Bellingham running up and down like a headless chicken, TAA in midfield, looking permanently perplexed, not a clue what he was supposed to be doing, and poor old Kieran, stuck out on the left, contributing the square root of feck all, which is most certainly not his fault, Harry Kane giving a goal away from the left-back position, wtf was he doing there ?

I don't see any way back for Gareth from this, but he could always prove me wrong.

Whilst in Valencia we were watching the opening game in the hotel bar, the Germans, Spanish & French just could not believe Grealish was pictured getting pi$$ed in Ibiza when the tournament had just started.

I told them he was not in our squad. The silence was deafening.

When the reality kicked in the Spanish waiter asked why do we have a manager who is clearly "tonto!"

Not just tactically clueless-he is also a bottler.

Sinkovs assessment of the England manager and the team moral is bang on.
Crazy sending Grealish home, he is one of the lads and a character.

He was more concerned that Grealish had been on the piss a couple of weeks ago and that his Fa masters didn't think it was a good look for English football

News for you Southgate. If we don't reach at least the semis you are toast, and your next job, if lucky will be managing that ****e down the M65

It's a no win situation for the players. If they ignore Southgate and try and salvage something and then do well Southgate will still get the credit and perhaps a contract extension. If the players want shut they have to lose.

    These lads are top pros.

Make no mistake about it, they won't want to lose. What they will do is make their feelings to the suits and hangers on from the FA, that they want shut of him

What else can he say in the middle of another doomed tournament?

I was listening to Lampard doing a BBC match preview for the Germany game, never mind the Burnley job, give him the England gig.
