Love this thread brings back so many unhappy memories although have to disagree with Steve Scoffham did we not buy him for around £3.82 and he gave us a one in two goal ratio?
Please correct me if I’m wrong…

Just checked his Wiki. No way any of the stats there are true! 45 goals in 78 appearances![]()

To be honest, Scoffham was better than a lot of the awful players we had during that era. He scored a few goals here and there and was unlucky with injury. He was miles better than Hackworth.
Steve Scoffham made 54 apps for Notts (52 of those in the league), he scored 7 goals - all in the league.....

I only mention him because it's his birthday today (68) but Garry Birtles was a disappointment overall, though did have his moments. Two goals in the memorable opening league game of the Pavis era, two that beat Champions to be Sunderland and the goal in that very memorable cup tie with Spurs in which Gazza made his one and only app at Meadow Lane.

Morias captained Daggers on his return, winning and scoring the subsequent penalty in a 3-1 loss to a U21 Spurs side.
Hopefully he can get some fitness and confidence and return in January like a new signing.
