So yes, we have been somewhat flat so far but we also have prior evidence that shows we can be a lot better, especially come January and we get Botman back and hopefully a decent January window signing
I think we'll be frightening when we click. We have players like Isak, Bruno, Gordon and Barnes who can produce a spark of individual brilliance to win a game where we’re laboring as a team, and we’re relying on that so far this season.

Yeah, and it’s harsh, but we weren’t putting together any kind of drilled sequence of passes to score today… it was a moment out of the blue, not something from the training ground, that scored and got 3 points.

I'd like to see a return to clean sheets again like a couple of years ago. On today though, we deserved that, we were just about better than Wolves at their place by nearly every statistical metric. Posession, shots, on target, duels won, tackles, passing completion %, corners, less fouls conceded. I think we are on the right track and it will click, this Wolves team are a stubborn side and unlucky wiith their start.

Agreed, we know the team can play better. A great 4 games in terms of grinding out results whilst not firing on all cylinders.
What worries me, though, is that I thought the break would give us a chance to regroup and get our mojo back. For most of this game, that didn't happen.
I wonder why not - and it concerns me that whatever has been happening behind the scenes (and of course the enforced sales) has impacted Eddie's ability to get the team really pulling together. If we aren't really clicking by now, when will it happen?
Having said that, there was a lot of concern about Gordon's dedication to the cause having been dented. There was certainly no sign of that today!! Others (like big Joe) had an off-day, but Gordon certainly didn't.

There were spells in the last 2 seasons when we played like this. We will improve.
Last season we wouldn’t have won that game. As well as feeling we haven’t played well yet this season there is growing evidence of a resilience in the team to get points. When it happens in one or two games you can call it luck. It’s been 5 games now.

Yeah mate, when you have a lot of good players you can afford one misfiring and still win.thats where we are now and I think we aten't as bad as it appears to the eye. One of these games we are going to hand out a whooping. 4 games unbeaten, 2ndin the league without playing particularly well.

Anyway, bwgger any negatives - we're 3rd in the table!
If that doesn't motivate the team to try all-out to clinch a CL spot, then nowt will!

Thing is - last season, we'd have dropped points in these games.

Fact we're grinding out the points. . . surely a good thing.

At some point, we click and someone gets a proper battering.

I don’t think we did play like this the season before last.

Last season… we were constantly losing players to injury, that excused them not looking like they knew where their team mates would be, as it changed so often and players weren’t on the training ground.

This season, no real excuse, no new players really and the only one that is new is Kelly who knows Eddie and Eddie knows… so no genuine reason why we look like we haven’t got a clue when it come to playing as a team.

See how it’s leading into Dec, but I’m not sure how much of this is Mitchell and how much is the England job.

Agree with this to a degree but if we're running into Dec and we're still grinding out wins and in top 3. . . .will anyone care.
