I pray that Maja can stay fit and would honestly sell Dike even at a lower fee as whilst I hope not - I can see him breaking down again.

I would rather see a lot of kids going for it and losing as opposed to losing with the aged squad on high wages. I pray Fellows does not leave as the thought of Wallace stepping in brings tears to your eyes. The guy simply is over the hill and the majority of those at the matches acknowledge this. Paying 25K for a good pro is simply laughable!
Definitely agree with more youth in the side. We have been lacking pace and movement for quite a few seasons now. But by all accounts, you would also need a smattering of older heads in the squad, especially if the manager is young enough to still be playing himself.
Wallace seems to be held highly for the work he puts in for the squad, so as sore as it may seem, he doesn't appear to be toxic.
There appears to be that in other "older" players.

Nigel Gibbs has been named men’s first team Assistant Head Coach, joining from Reading.

Gibbs worked closely with Albion’s new boss at Spurs as Assistant when Mason was Head of Player Development, and supported as First Team Coach during Ryan’s interim managerial duties. He has extensive senior coaching experience at clubs including Watford, Millwall, Leeds United, Swansea City and Asteras Tripolis.

Albion have also appointed Sam Pooley as Men’s First Team Coach / Head of Performance. He arrives from Rangers, where he was Head of Performance - following several years as Head of Sports Science and First Team Sports Scientist at Spurs.

Gibbs and Pooley link up with James Morrison, Dami? Abella and Boaz Myhill in forming the Baggies’ backroom staff.

If we accept that between the 6 of them they have a better idea of what makes a footballer than any of us then we should be able accept Furlong can't be a bad player. Doesn't mean we can't have a moan if we want to.

Players getting it in the neck from fans it's a comfortable majority of the squad.

As regards the Mason I do wander if the Postecoglu situation is a factor. If he gets the sack then a new manager might want to bring in his own staff and Mason could be out of a job. He picks up a packet and we don't have to pay. Just a thought.
Listening to the baggies podcast Andy Johnson whos watched every match said that Furlong has had a superb season. I agree with him. Has he made mistakes? Of course, I cant think of a player ever who hasnt. I thought exactly as you did, all those managers had him as a first name on the team sheet. Week in week out for seasons. Speaks volumes.

Now that the worst kept secret in football is out in the public domain, let’s hope it gives the new Boss time to get his feet under the table and start preparing for next season.

Good luck Ryan I hope you do well.

He clearly fits the Nestor algorithm so will sit well with the Board. I hope he has the maturity to deal with the senior players - the time at Spurs will assist.
I wish him all the best, will get behind him and am looking forward to seeing the developments and next season.

I am pleased that we have gone for a young head coach and not someone off the old managerial merry-go- round. As with all Albion fans, I wish him all the best and hope that he can bring success to our club.

Hurrah, we have appointed a manager, now we can move on.
Spurs fans say what a good guy he is and hope he returns one day to manage them.
Hope everyone at the club supports him especially the players, looking forward to some new signings/loans.
