Doesn’t have much to do with who Motherwell have just signed does it? Maybe he’ll be a revelation and it will be a shrewd bit of business on their part. Probably not though...

I thought folk would have learned after spunking over Hearts and Hibs signings in the opening weeks of this season.

Calm down a bit min, nobody is spunking their pants over who Motherwell have signed

Of course the guy is more than likely to be past his best if he is signing for Motherwell.

There is still a chance he will be a better signing than Ash Taylor or Curtis Main will turn out to be.

Again I’m not saying we should have tried to sign Casper Sloth but maybe we could find better players than Taylor and Main in the foreign market.

Quite like one of Sloths wikipedia descriptions, Sloth was booked for a bad tackle on Steven Gerrard. Sign him up

That’s it in a nutshell. We expect better. Particularly after our worst league finish in years. Particularly as we face the biggest rebuild in years. Particularly as the filth are pulling away and we’ve got 2 or 3 clubs breathing down our necks. But we won’t be buying better. We’ll be getting Ash Taylor and Curtis ****ing Main. Everyone will be ****ing themselves into a frenzy if those are two first choice players.

    What makes you think that?
    Was it wikipedia
He is known as a skillful and creative midfielder, with vision and ability to both up the tempo and hold on to the ball as well as being able to play as a right winger
Main was signed by Motherwell and they wanted him to extend.

Looks like he's played 68 games in 4 years, so averaging 17 games a season for 3 different teams, his last being Silkeborg who were relegated in their play-off with Esberg

Not going to belabour the point but you said it called into question our scouting and signing policy. I simply pointed out that we have no idea if this guy is any better than the ‘lower league pish’ we apparently sign. His last few seasons would suggest not.

Is our signing record worse than any other team’s? Last summer was pretty bad (Ferguson excepted) and we haven’t unearthed many gems (although McInnes doesn’t get much credit for signing Lewis and Shay) but most teams sign a lot of players in the summer who are no better than what they had before. That’s not to say we just accept that, it’s more to say that transfers are an art not a science. We’ll sign some sh*te this summer and every subsequent summer in perpetuity

He might fit in very well at Motherwell.

    Aarhus GF - Relegated
Leeds - 13 games in two years and left them in the lower half of the championship
Aab - Left them in the relegation group
Silkeborg - Left them after being relegated

Seems a bit of a gamble they can get his very early potential reignited
