MT in tizer today looking to bring 2 more signings in before this window closes one a forward would think with some height. Other a left back?
Out of the blue we appear to have made one William Sharp an improved offer...
Sounds a bit desperate.
I read the report in the Advertiser the opposite way as the wages budget has been somewhat depleted because of the new arrivals since the original offer.
“ROTHERHAM United have reduced the amount of money on offer to veteran striker Billy Sharp to move to AESSEAL New York Stadium, manager Matt Taylor has revealed.
The Championship Millers made made an approach well over a month ago following the release of the second tier's record scorer by South Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield United.
The 37-year-old has stalled on accepting what was on the table and Rotherham have now dropped the figure they are prepared to pay.
They have just signed Andre Green and are also targeting another frontman.
"I have to be honest, that offer has had to change because of what we've spent elsewhere," Taylor told the Advertiser. "What was there six weeks ago, we can't match that anymore. What we have left to spend is a lot less than we had previously.”
It was reported that the offer was withdrawn in it's entirety! In any case the 'Billy Sharp saga' is a fool's errand. Anyone wanting to seriously carry on playing would have decided by now.The last thing you need at 37 is to miss out on an entire pre-season. I'm open to ridicule but I'll stick my neck out...........he's had some time off,he's enjoyed it,Sheff Utd are in the past.........he'll retire!
A fully fit sharpe with desire, focus an a love of the shirt would be a great signing to Rotherham. A player at the end of his career, no preseason and the promise of sitting in a sky study wearing awful designer suits and talking crap is not what the town of Rotherham needs, BS are you a footballer that wants the thrill of the crowd when you score or the pundit that wants a lads night out with the lifestyle that brings, remember you are a long time retired, and MT and Rotherham will appreciate you far better than mother Teresa at Derby and the fical fans that still think they are a big club
BBC reported this afternoon that we had put an improved offer to BS today... it IS the BBC though... although another of these podcast things was saying the same thing...
Beeb appear to have pulled it now. Maybe realised they got the wrong end of the stick once again
