£2 million isn't much shared between a group of mega rich businessmen.
Promotion has been compromised for a relatively small sum of money.
Surely successful businessmen have heard the phrase 'speculate to accumulate'.
Nobody could have predicted season ending injuries to Moore & Dougall but you'd have to expect losing players to injury & suspension.
The crazy thing is that there has been investment in youth, but it's been at the expense of the first team.
The strangest decision was to name our number one January transfer target as being someone not available until next season.
    Madness!!
And should we be promoted he'll be chucked in at the deep end and possibly find the championship too difficult. Surely the penny must've dropped with the consortium as to the reason why we were relegated in the first place. Bill said 2million for Potts was difficult for any league one club to turn darn but I suppose that depends on your ambition. As said by Conway in various interviews the aim this season is promotion. Now selling a player who is championship ready doesn't make any sense to me. Surely keeping our best assets gives us the best opportunity of not only achieving our goal this season but also go into next season far better prepared.

These players must've learned so much from our relegation, keeping them here and together gives us a far better chance of survival should we go up. If the consortium thinks they can sell 3 key players art o this team in the summer, replace them with lower league kids and have a chance of survival in the league above then they're sadly deluded.

    We're back

to speculation though aren't we.Good players do attract attention and if we don't go up some of our players will have admirers. We recently tied Mowett down with a new contract and I believe talks are ongoing with others.

Yet they will. And believe me Pass, Mowatt will be one of the first to be sold. They’ll sell, pocket the promo money, and when we get relegated, will put the season tickets up £20 apiece and promise a season to remember.......
    RINSE ( Fans) AND REPEAT!!!

There is a new saying in business, And it’s not Speculate to accumulate.
It’s called “buy cheap, polish, and move on”.
Like the Hungarian skip rats that took some old chipped plates from a neighbours skip this week, as I watched incredulously. They are people who KNOW how to get cheap, and move Sh*t on.

So based on that logic and given Luton are a smaller club than us they will lose 60% of their team this summer .

Luton blow us out of the water when it comes to recruitment Ethel mate .

Their squad comprises of a wide range of age groups and so doesn't receive the same attention from the bigger clubs .

Our club is set up to be Thefootballfactory.com , that's the difference .

Im happy with where we are at this level ie second spot for now.
But as we old gits predicted we will struggle for the last few games just to get healthy bodies on the pitch. January fecked us as far as depth and variety in the squad is concerned.
We might struggle over the line in second but we should have been pushing for champs.

We shall see. As long as nobody dies does it matter?

    Too right it does.
