I’m not sure it depends on how much Sunderland value Yates at and if Sunderland think grigg has lost his value and is unlikely to fetch a higher price than Yates. They could be thinking hmm if we train Yates right we could get 4- 5 million for him in a few years.

However will warne want a 28 year old who will be 29 by time next season starts? From looking at our transfer policy and history I’d say it’s unlikely but not impossible

I'd be blowing in Wilder's ear if I was Paul Warne and see if Billy boy wants some game time in the Championship to finish his career on .

Ok you aren't going to get 46 games out of him but he'd get you 12 to 15 goals which could be a huge difference to your chances of survival .

Billy boy may have summat lined up coaching wise at BL but nowt to stop the Millers taking on a year loan even at his age .

Can't see him getting too much game time at BL , seem to be moving on a bit these days do the blunts .
